My fake 'Where the Wild Things Are' terrarium
« on: 13 Feb 2010, 21:52 »

A birthday present for a friend:

I sculpted my version of Carol from Where the Wild Things are out of sculpey: Rough Sculpt
Then cleaned it up/sanded/painted/glossed: Almost done!

And what you see up there is the final version after adding his fur 'mane' and making the environment in the bottle out of sticks and model moss(the kind used for train-set environments).

My favorite part: His eyes (and the many hidden in the trees) glow when you turn off the lights.  :)

There are more angles of him here: Sleepy Forest Blog

Thank you both, kindly!

Also, Zombiedude...nice icon.  If I remember correctly, that's from a really awesome comic?

Yeah! I loved the comic.  My boyfriend(and now I also) enjoys Suehiro Maruo, so one Christmas I got him Uzumaki in an attempt to get him hooked on some other horror comics.  Thanks for reminding me of the name.

Thanks everyone else!  Oh, and I don't grow weed...but if I did, that might be a good 'hiding' spot huh? ;)

@ zombiedude - I haven't read that one, but thanks for the warning.  I tend to enjoy nonsensical comics, but only if I go in knowing that beforehand (otherwise it's just frustrating).

@StreetSpirit - thank you! I have yet to get his reaction as it was passed from friend to friend.  No matter what it is though, I really had fun making it.. so at least there's that. ;)
