maybe people could just stop posting in the thread and let it fall onto the second page where no one looks? Then people will forget about it and it will go away. Sometimes you don't need to get a lock on a thread, and if no mods have been in here then repeatedly asking for something to be locked isn't going to do anything other than get the thread bumped back up to the top.
