Damn, that's way too young. I never heard much of his music, but he was pretty well respected 'round the parts I came from in the goth/industrial community.

Too young indeed. I still can't believe it. I didn't heard a lot of his music but he was a great dude and it's indeed a sad day for music.

The world will miss a great musician and the ladies an idol.

There was a time when they left for the encore the crowd, of course, started chating "YOU SUCK." Steele then came out and said "I heard you saying we suck. Well you guys suck! We get paid to suck, you suck for free!"

RIP Peter Steele, great dude.

That's no age for a man to die. Very sad indeed.

Tommy, ten thousand goth chicks a night bring themselves to multiple orgasms listening to 'Bloody Kisses'. Minimum.

But you can't go out
'Cos your roots are showing

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

And now I'm never going to see them live. Type O has been the soundtrack to some fuckin' awesome times. Long may it continue to be.

this is the first celebrity death this year or last year to literally bring tears to my eyes.

RIP

every time i make a tongue-in-cheek nihilistic comment about how i want to die/the earth to end/etc. it's in the back of my mind that peter steele did the same thing first but he did it on records that a lot of people loved and he did it better

For posterity, the Electrical Audio obituary thread.

Not actually about this obviously talented man who will be sadly missed, it just went on an incredible tangent. Page two onwards, gets really great about ten pages in and never ceases in quality.

Beefy/DC is probably the most fun to say out loud, even if it doesn't work as well in print as some of the others.
