WCT April 26-30, 2010 (1651-1655)

Keepin' it light to start the week. (And if you have to ask "Cave in to what?", you haven't been paying attention.)

I'm not sure what particular caving is involved, but Marigold's definitely your huckleberry.

I'd say Hannelore, since I'm pretty sure she already has a headlamp. Also, depending on the cave they can be some of the cleanest natural places you'll find.

But seriously, cave into what? This is the third time this weekend that someone's asked a question they thought had an obvious answer and I didn't know.

Sexual Frustration, fercryinoutloud.
Well there's your problem. Sven is pretty clearly not sexually frustrated. In fact, I'd say he's depressed—which likely means, of course, he has a reduced sex drive. I also wouldn't call what Hanners is going through sexual frustration, either. Curiosity seems more like it. So that leaves Marigold, Faye and Angus, and Marigold is the only one who's recently expressed SF. And she's already caved.

Momo is learning the delicate art of manipulation through blackmail, one of the more advanced levels of scatalogical judo.

PSL = Perverse Sexual Lust? Oh, come on? With Hanners on the list, it should be a no brainer! I mean, I'm sure Hanners has sex... with herself... in the shower... with cleaning products close at hand for afterward... But once you figure out that they can make "marital aids" out of just about anything, including materials that can be autoclaved (stainless steel, pyrex, etc.), the girl's goin' nuts. So to speak.

Suppose I should send an e-mail to Mythbusters asking them to test whether a person could actually severely dehydrate themselves in such a fashion?

To the PSL question; it depends on whether you're talking character PSL or fan PSL.  Character-type PSL tends to remain as fairly innocent innuendo between two characters, usually evolving into PMHP.  Fan-type PSL tends to go to the completely opposite end of the spectrum, to the type of fetishes that you'll usually find on image boards like 4chan.  If we're talking Character PSL then I'd have to go with Hannelore, for obvious reasons.  But if we're talking Fan PSL, then I'd have to go with Faye, because I think she's the only one who'd be capable of murdering someone just for the sexual thrill, as a example.  Don't get me wrong, I could see Hannelore easily murdering, like, everyone, but she probably wouldn't go orgasmic over it.

I disagree - in the QCverse, I don't see Hanners caving to PSL, her condition pretty much makes it impossible right now.  Unless she's asleep...  heaven help the folks downstairs if she ever starts sleepwalking!

Faye, on the other hand, has already shown signs of caving during the Svenpocalypse, when she seriously considered calling him (god, that took a long time to find...).

Well, yes.
No, she hasn't caved to PSL, she's caving to Momo's threat to tell Angus that she caved...
I was actually referring to my own post, which was made pre-quiz clarification, in which I declared Marigold most likely to cave. I should have added to anything. Sven seems too depressed to cave—you can't cave if you're not holding anything up (and European Medieval History is good reading to feed a depression. A Distant Mirror, for example, may be intriguing, but it sure isn't uplifting). Faye would refuse to cave just to be ornery—she'd wait until everyone's back was turned, then collapse, much like she did with Sven. Hanners, as Carl pointed out, can't cave, even if she wants to, to anything she isn't already freely going along with. And, despite the objections his merry detractors will no doubt raise, Angus has a spine in there somewhere. After all, a hetero male who doesn't cave to having his hand placed on a willing breast is probably fairly resilient.

On the other hand, all that's holding Marigold up is a framework of inexperience held together by wads of vaguely defined anxieties. A good gust of wind, or breeze of booze, as the case may be, and she flops (Trying to recall if Marten has ever given in to Pintsize, the MoSJ). Marigold simply has 'cave' written all over her at the moment.

It just occurred to me the title of today's comic should have been Use Your Opponent's Own Feces Against Him.

Edit: Faye caved when she kissed Sven as prelude to sex. Just to be clear. And, no, caving in is not always a bad thing.

Marigold did the right thing when she met Sven, i. e. run away as quickly as possible.

But she accidentally kept his book though, that could be trouble.

Oh My GOD.  Is Jeph setting up for a Marigold/Sven relationship?! I don't believe it.  That just is not going to work.

Either that, or we have just witnessed the seminal moment in the history of the IHFWAofA*

I like the "Men's Pocky".... but twitchy about eating it in public. I'm female... and 6 feet tall with broad shoulders and a deep voice, I get "sir"-ed a lot when people only get a glance out of the corner of their eyes.  Then they look square at me and apologize frantically: I also am, er, naturally quite well-endowed, and have a feminine face. But still feels like I'm tempting fate (or a label as a drag queen) by eating Men's Pocky!

Such a heavy burden to test such a thing out, but I'm sure those guys would be up for it.

A relationship between Marigold and Sven wouldn't have to work to be funny, but yeah, I'm sure being smacked in the face with a book is an immediate precursor to OMGSMEX.   :-P  I love Momo's expressions in panels 5 and 6, mwahaha.

Maybe Jeph just wanted Sven back in the mix of characters again.  Fine by me, and let the hijinks begin!

PS:  Men's Pocky sounds . . . potentially perverted.  Please tell me I'm picturing it wrong.

Yay for Momo-tan's facial expressions.

Faye was worried that she'd turned Sven on to nerdy zaftig brunettes with unmet needs (1161).

An expert manipulator would have kept the book on purpose to make Sven chase after her, but that seems way out of character for Marigirl. Does she just cling to books in moments of stress?

Sven should consider his actions from this point on very carefully.

If he gets involved with Marigold, and he handles a (merely hypothetical at this point, but almost certainly inevitable) break up with the same maturity that he did with Faye, Dora's reaction to that fiasco will be just a found memory compared to what Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham will do to him.

To quote a QC character (Raven, I think), if Sven hurts Marigold someone will kill Sven so hard he will die from it.

Helluva thing to get hit in the schnozz with, the Crusades. Just ask Richard I, Frederick Barbarossa, and now Marigold. Oh and the washer-women. Can't forget the washer-women.

I hope Momo hasn't been damaged, 'cause I somehow think Marigold might try a mite of reprogramming if she has opportunity. Scruples? Who has time for scruples when you're trying to haul your hole in after you?

Oh.

Oh no.

I've a distinct feeling that this may end with a massive murder-suicide leaving only the Anthro-PCs and the Roomba family alive.

On the other hand, Momo's face is hilarious.

Should be interesting... :-D

the 2 WoW players may finally meet.  I do not anticipate a ship between them but I think its great that she is unintentionally branching out.
