A 3rd movie?   Doesn't sound pleasing to me.

I'd rather watch the 3rd movie of Meet the Parents :  Little Fockers.

One of the worst things about the current vogue for 3D films is the way in which it is encouraging studios to revive franchises which have thus far only had one sequel, just so they can use "3D" to indicate both the number of dimensions in the film and films in the series.

You can almost hear the pause between the '3' and the 'D' from when it was being pitched to the studios.

"So what have you got for us?"
"How about... Men In Black 3..."
*groans*
"...D!"
*rapturous applause*

Has there ever been an internet campaign to convince everyone in the world not to go see a movie?

Think about it. Gross ticket sales on opening day: $0

No, but I do believe there was that one movie that ended up having effectively 0$ gross sales.  Zyzzyx Road, I think? Like, 6 tickets were sold, but three were actually complimentary because they were for the movie's hairdresser and two of her friends.

Edit: Nevermind, the movie made 20$ in the US, the producer reimbursed the hairdresser 10 bucks for two tickets.  It ended up making $368,000 in the foreign market.

I don't know why y'all be hatin, Men In Black is the perfect franchise to go 3d!

I was thinking they could hunt down a Na'vi that was brought to Earth by the Predators to capture ET for Darth Vader. Except it would be the future and all the people would be monkeys.

That movie would straight-up print money!*

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

On its opening day in the UK, Motherhood starring Uma Thurman made £9 on its opening night.

I like both actors and I liked both Men in Black movies. The matter is one of principle!

If we let this happen, next will be Rush Hour 3D. Terminator 3D. Charlie's Angels 3D.

All of those franchises were pretty solid but by no means do I want an influx of hastily thrown together vehicles for 3D shitting on my childhood.
