Pretty hard to go past as a non-civillian as well, I've been using a pair of hd280 for as long as I've been doing professional audio.

Well damn. I switched to Sennheiser headphones for both inside and outside listening in the last year and to me there is nothing better. Crystal clear sound from all.

We use Sennheiser microphones quite a bit in the TV production I'm involved in. Particularly lapel mics and shotgun mics. Good stuff.
