Man that birthday comic last week was kind of odd, but back to regular QC tod -wait, what the he- *checks forums*. Dammit, the one time I don't save the comic and he changes it without any link to the previous version. Does anyone have it? It wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I would like to have both versions. There's a reason I stopped playing pokemon and other collection games, and it wasn't age (it was because I couldn't stop playing them).

Oh, and my dirty mind would like to see makeouts (preferably of Hannelore and Tai), but the intellectual side wants some backstory.

For the love of all that's holy, let MG not turn into Faye 2.0. Faye 1.6.4* is more than enough for any single reality.

*I actually have a basis for this version number.

Well, now she's dead set to help her dear, best friend in snagging the girl, courtesy of her knowledge and experience of relationships culled from her yaoi library. And the Internet. This should be good.

I think she's getting there.

Before I met my other half, I was the agony uncle for a lot of my friends.  it can work if you're willing to spend most of your time listening rather than giving advice.  Sometimes the questions you ask are enough to help people work out what their feelings are.

I think that Marigold's well timed giggle is the biggest hint that she's given Angus.

There's a forum filter?!

Before I used the word "giggle" I tried a synonym that started "sni".  When I posted, my post actually read

... "well-timed shi I'm an ignorant..."

At first I thought that someone had hacked my account and was about to contact a mod.  I didn't think of a filter because, like you, I didn't think that a forum for QC would have one.  However, I realised that nothing else I typed provoked that response so a hacker was less likely -- if someone wanted to attack me they would be more evidence.  I thought about it some more and realised that "shi" wasn't a swear word short of one letter but "s + hi".  I mentally subtracted the "s" off the start of the word that I was using and realised that it must have been a filter.

Please, oh please, let her become Faye 2.0. Internet snark is even better than regular snark.

"Nothing.. Nothing"
Arrgh.

It drives me insane when my wife uses that.
I know she means something, and I can guess about a dozen possible meanings, but none of them are ever what she really means.

Only slightly less annoying than when she ends an argument with "well, do whatever you want. I don't give a damn".
Which I have learned really means "if you don't do what I want and pretend you're doing it of your own volition, you''ll be sorry"

Could it be that Jeph has developed a new relationship trope?  The "OK, we'll try this, but it probably won't work"?

Maybe not.  I think this may be the tail end of the sass-back relationship they had rearing its ugly head and biting them in the butt.

Because now, it's personal.

Hooray for Marigold!  My faith has been restored and I eagerly await more interaction time with her and the other characters.

I also kinda await her getting a new wardrobe. :\  Some of the guys have shown they have some fashion sense, but I haven't seen many of the girls wear more than jeans and a 'quirky' shirt.   Actually, I'll just settle with her getting out of that dress.  For now.

Edit: Um, just in case...here's a really good site for looking up outfits! http://www.yesstyle.com/en/women.html  (they also have a section for men).

Perhaps a tad off topic, but I was browsing some pics today, and it occurred to me why I like Raven.  She reminds me of Harley Quinn!  It's the attitude, you see.  That devil may care, lust for life glee.  I miss Raven, alas.

I like the character development.  Marigold is proving that she's an adult and can adapt.  It's very cool that the characters in QC show this ability to change and yet remain themselves.  It makes them CHARACTERS instead of CARICATURES.  Kudos to Jeph.

Today's strip is number 1691, which reads the same when turned upside. It's a pity the actual strip doesn't, because vertically palindromic artwork would have been awesome.

Note to self: send e-mail to Jeph about this idea when we start getting close to strip number 1961.

Heh heh, yay for giggling Marigold!  Wonder how long it'll be before Angus figures out that she knows.  Given his usual batting average . . . a week from now?  Unless Faye tells him first.   :-D

I kept looking at panel 3, trying to figure out what was wrong: Angus' sideburns are missing!  It's clearly an oops since they're present in all the other panels, but I hope Jeph doesn't decide to get rid of them -- it's one of the things that help distinguish Angus from Wil and Sven, etc.  Context is always the biggest clue, but having visual cues helps.

You'd think. I know of a certain Free to Play FPS that censors sNIPer and miNIGun, among many other things. Despite those very weapons being available in game.

Well, yeah, these days I play an online game where there are competitions between players. The problem is, the word "competition" is banned from the chat, because it contains "tit". Go figure... So, personally, I use the word "compeboobion" instead.

He's doing the pretending there's nothing going on between Faye and me trope, because of the I don't want to upset you, MG, trope. If there is such a thing. Meanwhile, Marigold is doing the 'I know, but you don't know that I know' snicker. That one, I'm rather familiar with.

And she seems to have quite a bit of fun with it. Which I find cute because it's a rather harmless way to have fun at the expense of a friend, and it's a tame payback for his lack of openness.

It still bothers me that Tai's tattoos disappeared. I know they weren't temporary because she had them through a few different comics and she was wearing different outfits. I hope her tattoos either magically reappear, or there is some crazy story behind their disappearance.  :?

This isn't going to turn into one of those "Mari tries to help their relationship and winds up destroying it" things, is it?

I have to say, if a single person trying to help a relationship, kills it, then it probably wasn't meant to be anyway.

I suspect angus will go home oblivious and then the next day or so drop in at CoD.  There faye will inquire about his talk with marigold, to which angus has no idea what faye is talking about.  faye reveals that marigold knows.  angus confronts marigold with not telling him she knows to which she replies that she doesnt like it when angus hides stuff from her either.  I also anticipate marigold hanging out at CoD more with dora.

She was drawing them on with a Sharpie but got bored with it.

Also, multicolor text is annoying and hard to read. :|

Maybe they were made with nano-ink from Hannerdad's labs which fades in the presence of alcohol. You know you've had too much to drink when your tattoos disappear.

OMG!

That look by Marigold in the last panel = PRICELESS.

And on top of that - I think we've found a "real life" Marigold (per Jeph's twitter): http://bit.ly/90CgTK
