Another week, another "guess the arc" contest. Enjoy.

EDIT: Yes, I'm going back and changing these. Deal with it.

My money is that Jeph will save any major Fangus developments for the pre-SDCC cliff hanger.

What worries me is that she's been through it enough times to know exactly how long she's got before she hits her limit.  Also, the fact that she sees it as a sign that she should stay up longer not that she should get to bed post haste.

Well, this is Marigold's opportunity to take care of Hanners, so that's cool.  Panel 4 looked neato/skeery.

Going without sleep for extended periods of time (ie: more than 24 hours) can result in increased brain cell death, though apparently nothing worse than getting absolutely hammered.  Cheaper than getting drunk, sure, but less pleasant, to my recollection.

I can't decide if Cosette's clumsiness is going to eventually infect everyone or if she simply absorbs the clumsiness of others, allowing them to be less clumsy.  Either could result in a clumsingularity.

So, that's what that sensation was. I always took it to be how we prepare... for combat.

I've been awake upwards of 48 hours before. Never hit a psychosis wall before. Caressed it once or twice, though.

It is, isn't it? Right now, I don't think Hanners could even attempt to dodge a good blow with an axe. And Angus is probably still chewing on the Faye remark MG tossed him, so he won't notice the clean-up efforts.

That was what you meant, right?

No?

Hey, you try getting pretend people's initials right when you've been awake for fourteen hours straight and are……older. Very slightly older.

And if I saw Jim Morrison, I'd be too worried about seeing Jim Morrison to even think about jamming with Jim Morrison because it could be the sign of early onset Morrisitus. I don't know what that means, but images of spouting odd poetry, being drunk and disorderly way too early in the morning, and shouting obscure insults at complete strangers comes to mind for some reason. Also, it's way too early in the WTC to be getting this silly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Cosette's making for a header with the tailgate of that Chevy. It's almost as if they were magneticly drawn to one another. Perhaps this will be when Tai gets magnetized by Cosette's jinx, off the reverberations through the Chevy's body structure.

On, and you never, ever, ever, EVER use nail clippers near the Y. Nuh-uh. Don't do it.

And it's sweet how Steve's really trying to be there for Cosette, but through the whole thing, Panels 1-4, it just keeps getting worse for him.

so if she stumbles and runs into tai, causing tai to stumble and fall into oncoming traffic, does that count as 'contagious clumsiness'?

On, and you never, ever, ever, EVER use nail clippers near the Y. Nuh-uh. Don't do it.

I'm pretty sure Tai was talking about hair clippers, not nail clippers.  Y'know, vibrating.  And besides, what's there to trim with nail clippers down there?

On second thought, don't answer that.  If you've got something there that needs nail clippers, I really don't want to know...

*Spittake*

Rhymes with "Shittake"?

And I still hear, whenever someone mentions Jim Morrison,

James, James, Morrison, Morrison
    Weatherby George Dupree
took great care of his mother,
    though he was only three.
James, James said to his mother,
    "Mother," he said, said he
"You must never go down
to the end of the town
if you don't go down with me!"

Unfortunately, I know the whole damn thing...

Tai's remark made me wince, but I had to look up Wikipedia for the punchline, which is never good. Perhaps it's funny for USAnians, or <name for people who live in Massachusetts, which is bloody difficult to spell> at least.

Obscure enough, especially for some GOM.

I agree that using [insert name of object here] while intoxicated often falls under the heading of "seemed like a good idea at the time..."

How do you explain that to the ER nurse?

Yeah, the name itself is pretty obscure, I'd say. I know Fight Club was a book first, and I've seen the movie, but I wouldn't have been able to tell you who wrote it without looking it up. And I've never heard of anything else he's written.

I dunno, considering this strip stated out unabashedly reveling in allusions to obscure indie bands and the indie subculture in general, a mention of a critically-acclaimed author with tons of cultural cachet in that subculture seems .. well...not particularly unusual..

Regarding today's strip, wow Tai.  I mean, she's got a ways to go before she can claim the title of Queen of the Overshare, but that's up there.   :-D  Or down . . . well, you get the idea.  Both Steve's expression and Cosette's expression in the last panel are awesome -- everytime I look at their faces, I giggle.

I think she got the crown when Tai dragged Martin to the bodmod shop to watch her get her hood pierced—and was stone-cold sober. I'm sure Marten would gladly enthrone her, at any rate.

I knew who Chuck Palahniuk was, but not about the masturbation story "Guts," nor the fact that he does seem to be at least a prince of the Overshare, if only due to paranoia.

I do wish Cosette could pass her clumsiness on to Tai. Cosette's had it long enough, and Tai could use something to keep her occupied. Providing, of course, she really has learned her lesson about hair clippers. (Yes, has to be hair clippers—they vibrate like anything in my hand when I trim my beard with them. And, like Jeph's petting his giant dog, this isn't a sexual euphemism.)

Well, you could put on one leg and get an idea of fit, though it would be hard to be accurate about the bottom.

…older than dirt

Fixed it for ya.

I keeed, I keeed!

I don't worry about visions of Jim Morrison anymore.

That weird naked Indian he hangs out with freaks me the fuck out though.

Sammy Davis Jr. shows up occasionally too.

Tai getting into Cosette's pants is probably not a good idea.

Drat you, Marten. You should've waited until Steve's arms were loaded down with skinny-pants and then brought that up.

It just occurred to me: is there any way of telling who has revealed themselves to be a bloodsucking freak perpetual insomniac?

I suppose you could analyze the timestamps on everyone's posts to see at what times each user's activity peaks, then you could ping each user's IP address to see what their geographical location is, finally cross-referencing that data with each user's time zone to tell who is regularly staying up til 4 am posting on the forums, but that would just be creepy.
