have the worst button layout of any I've ever come across
two buttons and a zip, okay?
but
the first button is the wrong way round, facing in at you instead of out
the designer obviously never tried going to the toilet or even just getting dressed in the dark
very annoying, would not buy again

Isn't this a fairly common thing? I've had lots of clothes with this "setup", I kinda like it. Less pull on the one button. And one button faces in because it would look kinda silly with two buttons out, I guess.

That was pretty standard on most of the dress pants I've owned. Except some have the button on the inside and then a slide in clip sort of deal so that you don't have a button on the outside.

Yeah, my boyfriend's dress pants have the clip. But I have a lot of clothes like that. I think its fairly common, and I'm not sure how its a problem.

My work pants at McDonald's were like that. I thought it was so that when one of the buttons inevitably fell off due to the relatively high activity levels in that workplace, you would have the other to serve as a backup. I didn't realize until considerably later that they were just poorly made, shitty pieces of clothing.

Just don't button the inner facing button. Or cut it off. Then they're normal shorts. The button hole won't be seen from the outside, right?

This is a very common setup for trousers. I think you should get around it by not wearing those shorts.

My pants, without fail, always develop a hole in exactly the same place, just behind and to one side of the seam in the crotch. Considering getting every new pants I buy reinforced straight away. I have lost damn near every pair of dress pants I own (including several that belonged to suits) because of it. Although that has as much to do with me being too dang lazy/inattentive to go get it fixed when it is a small enough hole to invisible mend.

Once again, that button setup seen above doesn't just reduce stress on the button, but across the whole front of the pants.

Yeah, that happens to mine as well, well before button issues (and it's annoying as hell – I just lost my favorite pair of jeans due to it). But I just think I look less "stuffed" when the pull is divided between two buttons and the pants look better in the front with it anyways, so I like it.

Every single pair of my boyfriend's pants have crotch rip. Just sayin'

(I want to fix them but he seems reluctant, maybe I will have to go back to sticking my finger in the hole every time I go for a grope, that really annoys him.)

My jeans always rip in the same spot on my right thigh, about two inches below the crotch seam. Most annoying thing ever, but it never fails. Also two buttons > one button for reasons listed above as well as the fact that buttons are pretty awesome.

I get the fatty wear marks in the thighs.

I've actually found a way around this! Put deodorant on your thighs! Sounds weird but it has helped me!

(Also, losing some weight helps as well. Maybe thats why it hasn't been happening lately...)
