Rift (2010)
« on: 08 Oct 2010, 15:10 »

Hello to everyone here!  I just wanted to let you all know about the film I've been working on the last couple months, now that the theatrical trailer has been released and the new website has finally launched...

It's called "Rift", and will be released later this fall.  It's a new outing in the world of indie horror, marking the arrival of a unique psychological thriller based on true events, revolving around the chilling slaughter of seven college students in the Town Creek apartments in 2001.  Check it out at www.riftthemovie.com.  The trailer is also available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOqOnlFvGUk.

I'd like to hear what you think, and since I know a ton of you have blogs of your own, if you're in the L.A. area and cover Horror-related topics in your writing, please let me know, and we can discuss the prospect of coming to the preview critics' screening!  Thanks, everybody.  I hope you enjoy it!

I haven't yet watched the trailer and I'm afraid I'm on the wrong continent to be of any use as a critic, but the first thing I noticed when I loaded the website is that the address bar says "http://www.riftthemovie.com/final_website/Final/" (the problem being the final bit). Looks a bit messy :)

Ooh, watched the trailer now. It looks interesting, not my kind of thing really but I'm intrigued, are you involved professionally or is it a school thing or other? What do you do?

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."

I've actually been working on it as one of the assistant producers.  I've been hunting down footage and working with blogs & whatnot to line up viewings for the preview screening and whatnot.

If anyone on the site is in SoCal and just so happens to write about horror online, please let me know if you'd like to come out for a screening!  We're trying to line things up right now, and I'd very much like to hear from anyone who would be into running a review on the film.
