2011 Comic Con
« on: 29 Oct 2010, 11:39 »

FYI tickets for the 2011 Comic Con in San Diego go on sale this Monday, 11/01/10 at 9:00 AM Pacific. They sell out very fast so if you're planning on going, you might want to get them sooner than later.

UPDATE:

Quote
We are really sorry for the problems with registration today. We do not know what the technical issues are, so we have temporarily closed registration.

We will announce on Monday, November 8th, the new date and time that registration will reopen. This down-time will allow us to determine and address the issues.

Only a handful of badges were actually sold today.

Thank you for your patience, and again, we all are truly sorry for this inconvenience.

I don't know if they've addressed the issue this year, but last year professionals were caught in an ugly Catch 22. They were being more selective in what constituted a "professional", but they didn't make the decision on who could and couldn't get their pro badge until AFTER the regular memberships had sold out. I had a couple friends who were enough on the fringe (technical TV crew rather than actors/creators) for this to be a problem. One was OK'd, the other not.

If I was in the correct country and also single I'd help you out there, Ally (you could go on your own and pick up maybe?)

I dislike comic books, so I'm out of the running.

Sorry Ally.

Ready for some HI-larious irony? 9AM Saturday comes about and I totally forget to buy tickets. I didn't remember until Saturday evening, when they were already sold out.

Go me!

I hung off on the tickets trying to get decent prices for long-haul flights (no point buying tickets if I can't get there.) Cheapest I found was £550 direct (£420 indirect) so forget it.
