Punk Goes Pop Vol.3
« on: 02 Nov 2010, 13:54 »

Released today. What you guys think? There's some pretty decent covers on it. I couldn't help but start laughing hysterically at Woe Is Me's cover of Hot 'N Cold though xD

Before the inevitable happens, I would just like to say that this was probably a simple mistake on ErrantVenture's part. ErrantVenture, most people on this board aren't into that kind of music, but it is completely cool if you are. Also, I'm sure some of those covers are probably much better than the original.

Just from now on try to keep in mind what forum you are posting on, because I'd hate to see the things you like get stomped to mush and shat upon right before your young, innocent eyes.

Yikes. I can honestly say that if I ever saw any of these people on the street, the word "punk" would be the furthest thing from my mind.

My bad, I was actually pretty disapointed with the bands they got to play for this album, which is why I wanted to hear the opinions of others xD

Every single band on this has a lead singer with the same hairstyle. Or at least, I assume it's the lead singer.

Is that haircut the key to success as a punk?

Oh no. I love punk. It's just that none of the bands on that comp are actually punk bands. Popcore goes Pop Vol. 3.

Btw, Zombiedude, I've seen Family Force 5 before. A friend dragged me, and I ended up not only in the worst pit ever, but then getting bitten on the elbow in said pit.

Well yeah. I wasn't saying that most people here didn't like punk. I know that a lot of people here love punk. Nothing on that album is even close to anything that could ever be called punk.

I think the term someone came up with was depop.

I uh... I can admit to having personally met Family Force 5. My old youth pastor was good friends with the guys. They would let his 5-year-old son dance on stage whenever our youth group went to their concerts  :-(

Do they still have a guy in the band who does nothing but dance around and play air guitar?

Seriously wtf is that guy playing and why is he so excited about it. I'd say it was a keyboard but its much smaller.
On a different note Dead Kennedy's are coming here. Would any of you go see them since Jello Biafra isn't with them anymore? Same goes for Misfits.

Edit: forgot to mention I fucking love OFF!

I thought he was gonna die at at least 4 different points in my life, probably more. Yet there he is. Screaming his punk rocks.
