So What If I Don't Own A Scanner?
« on: 15 Nov 2010, 20:11 »

A collection of art that I find suitable for putting up. You don't have to look at all of them if you don't want to, just check some out and let me know what you think! :D

When I was 14:

I thought maybe some day I would draw all of the pictures in the Potter series but decided against it after the third or fourth drawing.

Another: It's a bit blurry, sorry.

My crack at calligraphy for a friend:

Random doodles or attempts at collages:

Pictures I drew when I was 15:

Don't mind the shoe on the right (screen right that is) because I messed up badly on it:

A picture of one of my little sisters that I just kind of half-assed at drawing because I hate colored pencils:

First drawing I've done upon becoming 17:
It's not finished (well it is, but not this picture. I don't currently have a finished picture of this picture yet.)

I forgot to upload this one, but here it is:

Enjoy. Tear them apart, or whatever you want to do with them. I'll be sure to post more though when I do some more (I'm in art classes this year, so I'm sure more will come.)

if you use links from photobucket that have the IMG tags on them the pictures will show up, rather than the, uh, html tags (I have no idea what I am really talking about) you have used there. Handy Hint!

Yea I know, thanks(: I just don't want to slow down the loading process due to the high amount of pictures I would have been using.

well in that case you should just get the direct links and use the URL tags, rather than the html codes! If I click on the first links of your two links to each of the pictures then I can get into your photobucket account and look around.

Aw well, I did it anyway :) So hopefully it's an easy view, and I kind've like an open photobucket anyway. I don't upload anything I'm ashamed of, mainly just things I want to add together for banner pictures anyway, but thanks!

This forum doesn't embed html, it uses BBCode. If you want to embed links, go like this:

Do I still have to fix it, or is it ok now? I'm not opposed to either way.

Nah, it's not even that many pics, and they're not huge. It shouldn't be a problem to anyone with a connection above 56k

I'm not sure you can even buy dial-up connections from ISPs in the UK anymore.

Scanners aren't necessarily the best anyway, but it helps having something better than a webcam. I like your portraits the best but that's just me.

The scanner thing was just more so for a nifty title, and thanks! :D

Try your local library or copyshop.

Scanning is usually free if the library has a scanner. Copyshops will usually scan to either a CD or a USB flashdrive for a matter of pennies per sheet. A small outlay for an improvement in quality of image.

In the meantime, if you're using a webcam or a digital camera, either adjust the white balance or stick to taking the pictures during daylight hours, it'll give better colours and sharpness.

It was daylight. I have old wired housing. I'm not really worried about the scanner, it was just sort of a title name with sarcasm, not really a question

Either way, yea thanks for the tip! It was done in a rush really to show my friend the pic, but here is a better version I forgot to upload here.

From the title I was hoping you were just going to describe your pictures to us. Oh well.

Also, a better (and finished) picture of me in a field. I got really lazy and just half-cared about the grass and didn't really go into full depth. Yea, I'll probably regret it later but eeeeh

And to Jimmy: I don't exactly understand how you get me not owning a scanner goes into description of my pictures, but if you look I do have things above or underneath categories of my pictures. :) Have a look and if you have questions about my drawings and what they're about, then feel free. But oh well. :)

Thanks! :D Sorry the camera was a bit weird. It doesn't show certain lines that are on the picture (such as one of the lines to my nose lol) but I'm glad you like it :)

....and that's the other advantage of having them scanned!  Everything shows up clearly, all the details, the camera's eye isn't tricked by anything, and the colors come out true (well, truer, until someone looks at it on a badly balanced monitor...)
