Local Glossary

I have to ask, what is up with UBMEOD? What's the origin of the phrase? What does it mean exactly?

Maybe we should make a glossary, there are quite a few things in this forum that needs explaining. The first thing I wondered about was my position, "'Notorious N.U.R.R."

It actually means Nobody's Uncle oR Relative - it's meant to symbolise one's low post count.

Maybe it's a term used on more forums, but at least not any I have seen so far.

And right now everyone seems to be overjoyed with the Psyduck emoticon, but that's just because it's new.  :psyduck: I have seen it somewhere else, but I have yet to see an explanation. So, could someone please enlighten us - what does that duck mean?

Notorious NURR is a position.  The position you have is based on post count.  (Check your profile.)

I have no idea what the psyduck stands for.

You survived the duck attack and yet has no idea of the psyducks?  :?  :-D

If I get the "Duck Attack Survivor" position right, it is a reference to a strip where ducks invaded CoD... but my memory may be playing games with me?

A full list of the positions, and other interesting stuff specific for this forum, would that be good or would it just be a spoiler? Because I think it's one of the beauties of internet forums, each have their own words, inside jokes, references and legends - which all sums up to some sort of mystery heritage. It sure does create something important. Additionally, I think this forum has loads of the stuff - which makes it an interesting and unique place on the internet.

Oh yeah, the internet. That is not forum-specific, but it sure is common here. What I talk about is being rewarded "Teh internetz" by your forum fellows when doing something awesome enough, anyone knows the backstory of this?

And, yes, I did find out what the position "Notorious N.U.R.R." meant, hence the quote of the explanation. But maybe it wasn't a really straightforward explanation. Sorry

N.U.R.R doesn't stand for anything, it's just "nurr" turned into a pointless acronym, like Notorious B.I.G.

Pretty much all the titles were made up by Jeph, and to my knowledge they don't actually mean anything, he was just fucking around.

Also, psyduck was asked to be put in by one of the mods because he liked it.  Psyduck is originally from pokemon, and also a smiley on the Something Awful forums.
