Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

I guess they were shooting some scenes here in Michigan.

One thing I do know about it is that it has Shockwave in it.

What happened in the last minute of the trailer? The first minute was so tedious that I couldn't be bothered to actually watch the rest.

My bet on who the transformer in the trailer is, is Alpha Trion. He's the one responsible for making Optimus who he is (in a nut shell).

A wide spread rumor is saying it's Unicron, but Bay already said Shockwave was gonna be the villain. Not sure if people are just ignoring that statement or what though : /

See, now I'm fucking torn, because Bay is such a fuckwit, but Shockwave was my favorite.  GOD. DAMN. IT.

well, IMBD gave it higher reviews than both the first and second.
T1 7.2/10
T2 5.9/10
T3 7.5/10

Hmmmm, I think I will see this solely because its transformers and its more or less a nostalgia thing.

Hey now, come on, Shia Lebeouf is the first action hero to beat the bad guys by running away from them. Seems to be a winning formula.

Sentinel Prime is supposedly the new main villain to replace "The Fallen" this time around for "random villain that pushes Megatron to the side until the end of the movie".

shit I hope not.  I remember the first season of transformers had a huge 2 or 3 parter about the decepticons bringing cybertron into earths orbit and it nearly tears earth apart.  Would be way better if they do this.

we need more cybertronian and less human screen-time.

That is still the plot, with Sentinel Prime driving it instead of Megatron, if the novelization is to be believed.

I still think the biggest flaws in the movies thus far was it gave too much focus to the humans.  Especially revenge of the fallen.  The first one would have been fine to "set up" who the autobots and decepticons are but instead they made it too much about the humans.  Revenge of the fallen was a scifi movie about a boy trying to tell a girl he loves her...and it features robots.  I feel VG cats put it perfectly

Well, it essentially took 2 1/2 hours to tell audiences "that's right, Optimus Prime is the fucking MAN".

The Megan-Fox-replacement was a LOT better though. Nice to have a love story that wasn't laughable unrealistic. Well, it sort of was, but their coupling worked better than the last film's.

Is this the end then? Or will it be a Quadrilogy?

Well, I don't know about Lebouff, but Bay leaving might mean another director who might have an understanding of the important things

Ya know

i have yet to watch Transformers 3 but today I watched the 1986 movie and I have to say, despite its 80 cheesiness its pretty damn good, better than bays films.  And no not because of nostalgia (though I did feel it) but it was just a well put together movie in comparison.

In contrast, I watched Rise of the Fallen yesterday. As soon as I turned the tv off I couldn't for the life of me remember what that film was about or anything about any of the characters. That is a problem when you are making films.

My cousin and I had a better time with that one. Not because we thought it was good, didn't even flinch when Optimus died, but how funny we found it.
