My girlfriend was a bit down so I did this and she seemed to like it, thought I'd share here too.
As per usual, very rough, all mistakes and such, but I'm terrible at doing recordings right!
Recorded on the cheapest tranny amp in the world too, so sorry about the lack of subtlety :(

I actually quite like the sound of that amp. What is it? Kinda sounds like the 15w Vox Valvetronix we used for half our album

meeting with big time studio about re-working a song off of our last record. Not sure which of our kids to save. Studio has had 40 #1 hits on the billboard charts. Kind of overwhelmed.

I hate I am never anywhere I can check out anyone's music on here. But I love the fact that I'm so busy I only get on QC every now and again. One day I'll pop in and find out you've all been raptured or are replacing that guy from Slayer wot died. Today I interview for a move up at my job. I'm not a favorite in this race. Tomorrow we re-record "Needle" in hopes that some pop-tart wants to record/buy it or they need it for a Cialis commercial. Kind of amazed after listening to the whole of our last record that would be the one they'd pick. Oh well money down the drain, I'm sure it'll sit on an electronic shelf and collect metaphoric dust.

Me and my mate Thom did another all-live, all-acoustic album! Our band name is Keithoats this time and the album is called No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service, No Woman, No Cry. It was written form scratch and recorded in five days, hence the occasional appalling guitar solos and vocal flubs. We're rough and ready, what can I say?

For a preview, here is one of my favourite tracks from the album, 'An Open Mind.'
[soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/hughes-and-mawson/keithoats-an-open-mind[/soundcloud]
Our other three albums are also up on there.

I wrote this song on Tuesday about how I feel about a very close friend who is moving away. You can probably tell by the first bar that I have feelings for her that go beyond friendship. Anyway, I showed her the song yesterday and she loved it. I hope you enjoy it too.

We're getting really close to releasing our album.  Here's our latest single- "Good Weather"-

Hey I never said that! Thanks though.

Good to hear you guys are keeping it up. I've got some news myself, Troubador just spent Sunday's practice recording demos of almost all of our new songs. Recorded all 12 or so demos in the space of under an hour, too. I'm incredibly excited about this and can't wait to start work on recording the next album, which is what these demos will help us do.

Hi! I'm still new, I guess. Mostly been posting my drawy stuff over on some of the other forums. Figured I'd throw in my hat in this thread as well.
I play in a danish Viking/Battle/Folk metal act called Vanir. We've released two albums so far, and I guess we're what you'd call underground-big in our own country. We recently had a pretty major line-up change, so that was fun. End result is that the music on the upcoming album will be a tad more on the melodic death side (with a bagpipe, still)

https://www.facebook.com/vanirdenmark <- Thi is us
(I'm the guy second from the right. I play bass and coverart)

Hooray for the bagpipes.  And I notice that the bagpiper is several inches taller than the rest of the band.

And who are the guys who can't afford chain mail?

Good stuff, I liked it.

Seriously, Patrick, this is a great song.

Fro anyone who's interested, my band got quite a nice write up.  There's a link at the end to our newest stuff.  We have a new song out called "Black Box" on there.  It's once of my favorite songs we've written.  Check it out-

I actually prefer your version to the original. It's less shouty that Cursive, and the fake trumpets were awesome.

EDIT: I just realised how back-handed that sounds. I really like it. It's been playing on and off for the past couple of hours.

It's only got 7 strings! :p And a harp dosn't have frets. Though I admit that I could make do with 6. Was just offered this one cheap, and it sounds lovely through an EBS Fafner amp :)

So I wrote a song. It's recorded appallingly (my terrible mic seems to actually be getting worse somehow) but I think it's one of the best songs I've ever written. If I ever made an album (or just got a decent mic) I would happily just re-record these exact parts on it and wouldn't feel a need to overdub anything else.

All of my music is over at the appropriately named aliensporebomb.com.

I spent over five years writing a crazy rock instrumental record, writing, recording, playing, producing, doing the art, everything here:
http://aliensporebomb.bandcamp.com/album/this-is-aliensporebomb-special-edition

Then I started an ambient music project called Ionosphere Casting Shadows here - which has one release:
http://aliensporebomb.bandcamp.com/album/a-passage-from-the-vault-of-hours

Which lead to me doing a documentary soundtrack here:
http://aliensporebomb.bandcamp.com/album/the-life-and-artwork-of-solveig-arneng-johnson-the-ambient-soundtrack

And my experiments in progress are here:
https://soundcloud.com/aliensporebomb

I'm in the process of writing another rock project which should probably be my midlife crisis recording since it's a lot more guitar heavy than any previous release.
I'm also probably going to do a project with my wife (who is a vocalist/keyboardist) but not sure what will transpire there, probably songs set up for her soprano voice.

None of this has lead to fame or fortune, it's just something I enjoy that leads to gigs here and there and occasional amusement.

Hey all,

I've been recording with my band, The Best Worst Idea (previously entitled 'Snazzy and the Perpetually Changing Band Name") for a couple of years; never really bothered to upload anything online, but hey, never too late to start.

I present to you a single-mic recording from last year (dug up and uploaded because I can't find my hdd with all my decent recordings):
[soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/the-best-worst-idea/as-you-were[/soundcloud]

(P.S.: When I get somewhere that doesn't have super shitty satellite internet, I'll start uploading more to it, but I figure I may as well get the name out there)

so that's who followed me on SC earlier. thanks! coincidentally, I just finished my newest original tune. it's not my best vocal work but it's well worth it for the ending.

Man this thread makes me wish I was in a serious band again. Haven't played with anybody else since college and I'm ten times the guitarist I was back then.

Taekwondoin, do you have any solo work? I'm constantly looking out for new music for my radio show, so if you have anything you can link me to, I'd be happy to play it on air :)

I haven't I'm afraid. Though I'm buying myself a Line 6 pod this week, so give me a couple of weeks and hopefully I'll have some stuff to send you!
