big time bummer.  a couple years ago a friend from michigan was telling me that he was able to book him at (what I assumed to be) a sort of small venue and I was really jealous/a little upset that I didn't know about it beforehand.

edit: here is his daytrotter for anyone trying to quickly get hands on few mp3s

I posted something insulting in regards to the comment above but then removed it because it felt weird being negative in an RIP thread, but I also didn't want some one word derogatory comment to close out this thread (in case no one else posts) , so I will say maybe check out the song Knoxville Girl, which is about murdering yr girlfriend in the woods for no reason and almost getting away with it.  I am not sure it gets much more badass than that.

Plus, it was recorded when the Louvin Brothers were more "in their prime."

Err, yeah... I love the guy. Sorry, I assumed it would be taken as read that people don't post negative comments in an obituary thread! The guy was brilliant, I though his (fairly) recent double-album-of-sorts where one side is gospel tunes and the other is murder ballads was fucking ace.

Apologies to any who thought I was cussin' a legend, I am not a dick I promise

completely my mistake!

I'll have to check out the murder ballads album, I only have tragic songs of life and the solo Daytrotter session (and a random vinyl that I found somewhere) and the murder ballads were always my favorite.
