Not sure the last poll option is really necessary; we already know where he is - making out with Marten.

Ah, it makes sense, now.

Liking a particular character doesn't prevent me from posting analysis on his current relationship status, or why somebody might be romantically interested in him. I like his character in the comic because he works well in the QC world; I like most of the characters for this reason. He has his flaws, but so does everybody else, and I would posit that Angus has less significant flaws than most of the cast. Oddly enough, unless I'm managing to completely forget about somebody, the only regular character with less significant flaws than Angus right now is Faye; draw from that what you will.

Maybe she'll take some of her Yuri Anime with her when she goes to Hanners.

Momo looks so cute in that last panel.  A blushing AntroPC - At least you can tell her programming hasn't been corrupted by Pintsize.

She only uses it to help. She is a good scholar of scatological judo, whereas Pintsize is a bad one. And as all eastern martial arts movies have taught us, there will be a showdown between them some day.

Hm, most people with their eyes closed (or blindfolded) would walk with their hands out for guidance, even if led by someone else.  Whether Momo leads her by hand or via subvocalized instructions, Marigold would have a high chance of either stumbling or accidentally touching . . . something.

Faye: "Mmm -- hey, when did you get a third hand?"

Angus: "That's not my -- holy crap!"

Everyone:  "AAAAAAAAAH!"

Then they all get Dragonball Z hair.   :-D

is shorting pintsize out by something filthy even possible, that would require something so vile a human couldnt think of it

or maybe when the singularity happens, then pintsize will probably turn into said unthinkably vile action among others in his existance of pure porn

The singularity has happened in the QC universe, fairly recently. Pintsize was crushed that it wasn't more dramatic.

Barely a day goes by here in my university accomodation where one guy is playing music far too loud and another guy is making humping noises through the ceiling. I'm actually fairly accustomed to it by now.

No, a scenario believed to be the likely cause of the Singularity has happened, and the hubbub over that one theory led the Internet to dub it "the Singularity."  If the Singularity had happened, by definition, the characters' lifestyles would make little sense to us.  That's kind of the idea; the Singularity is the point where things make less sense to us than our world would to Akhenaten.  What has happened in this universe illustrates pretty well why I don't believe in the Singularity.

This just illustrates why I don't get all the Angus hate. Angus might have been a one note gag when he was first introduced, but he has developed since then.

Yes, he's developed from an annoying running gag into weak vanilla pudding. I suppose that's evolution of a sort.

At best he's a Placeholder Significant Other, like the ones that infest Sluggy Freelance.

And here I thought the whole Angus and Marigold arc (both the dancing stuff and the subsequent Drunk Marigold scenes) were pretty good character development.

Mostly because she IS interested in Angus, and has explicitly stated that she really likes him (in the recentish underpants arc). She was interested in dating in general much earlier than this, telling Doctor Corrine that she wanted to be able to kiss boys but didn't feel ready to do so. She began to overcome those boundaries with Sven (perhaps not quite as she had intended, but she did it nonetheless) and is continuing to do so now with Angus. I can't say for sure how the relationship will end up, but Faye is genuinely interested, as is Angus with her. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jeph progresses their story.
Well... have you ever read a bad fanfic? The kind that pairs up the characters as the fan in question sees fit? The progression of the relationship just doesn't seem to ring true, you know? That's how I feel about the development of Faye having a relationship with anyone at all. It just can't ring true for me. It isn't really an Angus thing, even though he's a dull and uninteresting character. It would be just as bizarre if she started dating Marten. Her reaction seems like it should always be either the one she had for him, or the one she had for Sven.

Character development is good, but I just can't buy her getting over it. A real person would, but she's a character and her neuroses are the central point upon which her character was built. I don't think it's valid to change a character that much.

Hmm, I suppose. A person can and will change as much as she has, and her character these days is becoming more based on how she's breaking past her neuroses, which is what the Angus relationship is showing.

Thinking about it though... how long has it been in the QC world since the whole Sven thing? Perhaps not as long as a real person would take to achieve the same progress, so I'm starting to see your point. However, I still believe the relationship between Angus and Faye is a good one; they have a nice dynamic. Now that the breakup drama seems to have mostly subsided, we should get more of an opportunity to see where this goes, which may help validate the course of events.

Does Hannelore even have a TV? Strip 590 isn't definitive, but it sure sounds like she doesn't.

EDIT: Momo-tan has holographic projection equipment. Couldn't she log on to Hulu or Netflix or whatever and display the video?

I don't hate Faye and Angus as a couple, so I guess?  Even if I think it's all a bit contrived, they aren't the worst thing to happen to the strip. It makes me a bit sad to see how it affects Marigold, but that's all. I'm a total hypocrite where she's concerned, mind you. If she were to be shoe-horned into a happy relationship with completely contrived development, I'd be happy. Just because it's Marigold being happy.

Well, there's one thing we definitely agree on. :p Ever since the whole Dale thing happened, it's been fairly obvious that they will end up together eventually, because these things just seem to work that way. That won't be for a while though.

Moving back to the present day, I'm actually fairly surprised how well she's taking it. Angus is the only person she's ever felt she had a genuine chance with, and Faye has started dating him quite soon after she got rejected. All she's really done is sulk about it a little; if it was me I'd probably be curled up under my blanket lacking the motivation to do anything at all. >_>

Hey, there may not be any boot-knocking goin on for Angus, but you still have to be prepared! At least, I'm pretty sure that Faye's little jab there was implying that she wasn't talking about sex but just about sleeping together. But, with how...shall we say randy they've been the last few strips I suppose it wouldn't be much of a surprise at all if she were.

Angus isn't checking for condoms, he's checking to make sure Mari-girl's out so she doesn't go on a rampage on hearing him and Faye getting it on and kill them.

We know he had at least one girlfriend before Faye.

Also I'm highly curious how you would find out a man is a virgin - unless the guy tells you - and even then he could lie about it.

An awkward protocol problem for Angus. If he can't even remember whether he has any condoms, it suggests it's been a while since he, um, stocked up. I suppose that's a good thing. Sven probably has fresh condoms on some kind of belt-feed, even if his... rate of fire is lower these days.

Ten Internet dollars says we find out in that he's actually a virgin.  Now that (and Faye's reaction) would be the comic of the year.

OMG... That would just... WOW.

jeph is sortof setting that up isnt he, its gona be one of those 'see this?  you just BROKE my mind' (first sister visit arc) or 'catatonic with glee' (after angus cried over a anime) kinda jokes but better :D
then its the question if angus will take offence to that, or that faye will controll herself and be cool about it

An awkward protocol problem for Angus. If he can't even remember whether he has any condoms, it suggests it's been a while since he, um, stocked up. I suppose that's a good thing. Sven probably has fresh condoms on some kind of belt-feed, even if his... rate of fire is lower these days.

Rate of fire....oh jeez that one is bad

He mentioned a previous girlfriend, but then again many guys who are virgins at Angus's age (early to mid 20s?) tend to be ashamed to admit they have yet to do the deed, and will often lie about it to everyone. So yeah, Angus being a virgin is possible...

It isn't as though Faye is Miss Super-Experienced either. She got laid about a handful of times since The Incident, and I know the fact that all of those were with Sven means she's probably learned a thing or two but still.

Angus is one heck of a lucky man.

If Faye's favorite story is true, then she obviously did the deed before The Incident. Besides, during The Talk she mentions telling her dad that she'd lost her virginity. All that to say that she's a bit more experienced than you're giving her credit for.

Being like Angus, I had to laugh at today's comic. I've been single long enough that I don't remember if I have my old stash, so I can relate. I'm interested to see if Mar-bear is able to leave before they start shaking the walls.

It would also explain a great deal about most of his behavior in the comic.

Angus' claims to being an "orgasm technician" and a "professional sexmaster" felt more than a little bit out of character for him. But, if he is totally inexperienced that would sorta explain him blurting out statements like that. Let's wait and see! As long as Angus is honest with Faye, it could work in his favor. She might be understanding, even if he tries to hide it, but ... massive awkwardness coming up?

The 'Angus is a Virgin' hypothesis (it's not even a theory) while funny, is not exactly likely.

Sure he's a bit awkward, but most guys are. And if you're comparing him to Sven, that's not exactly a fair sample.

We know that Angus has been in at least one serious relationship (at least serious enough to not visit CoD during its duration) for at least long enough to know that his ex was apt to belittle people, and it would be unusual for a hetero relationship not to include sex.

And as to him checking on whether his supply of condoms are still handy, while it may not be smooth, is actually pretty respectful and responsible. Of course Faye is going to give him grief about it! It's how she rolls, and he digs it, hell, for these two, it's practically foreplay!

Angus isn't perfect. He's probably not even perfect for Faye, but there's only one way for them to find out. She's willing to give him a shot, maybe we should too.

Im sure somebody can find more examples

http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1733

panel two, expressions and late recovery do indicate he's completely oblivious

there is plenty of evidence for and against this theory, im afraid only the next 2-7 comics will tell :P

http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1817

maybe what angus just did today was hide his lady holster altar

People.

If Angus were a virgin he would not have turned down Marigold. Period, full stop.

I grant you, it would be hilarious if he were, but he's not. No way, no how, no sir!

I think his awkwardness stems entirely from the fact that he's trying to woo Faye Whitaker, with full knowledge and consideration of her history.

It's a delicate balance of trying to express interest and attraction, while at the same time not getting defenstrated.
