ROMs on my Android
« on: 27 Mar 2011, 13:43 »

Okay, so I recently discovered what is possible the single best reason to own an Android, and that is the large amount of ROMs available for download and playable.

Pretty much everything that was released on the NES / SNES / GB / GBC / GBA / Atari 2600 / Sega and a shit load of other stuff and I never really played any of these systems, so my question is, what ROMs should I download?

I'm starting with Chrono Trigger. I have Link To The Past lined up.

Final Fantasy 6, Advanced Wars, and Golden Sun on the GBA are good.

I'd suggest Pokemon Sapphire or Ruby if you're into that sort of thing.

OH!  Also play through Super Mario RPG!

Note :  I tend to play RPGs on android, as my phone is entirely touch screen.  Most arcade games or 'timing' games aren't suitable to get by without tactile buttons of some kind.

Yeah, that's what I figured. And... I've got all the Pokemon games already installed. Just going to take my time with those.

I dunno 'bout ROMs, but now I've finally got ScummVM running on my Nook, and Curse of Monkey Island is a joy on this thing :)

If I could play ROMs on my iPhone I am pretty sure it would die in the middle of the day every single day.

Breath of Fire I and II (Though I think II is the better game by far.)

Lufia 2.

I've also gotten a few PSX roms going on it with FPSe and it's so much fun.

For PSx I've mainly got Xenogears and Suikoden II, but I'm considering adding FF7 to the list of things to download.

Kirby on the GBA is always a lot of fun. Last week I met a friend playing Pokemon on his Android on the bus. Apparently he's also downloaded a million gameboy games on that thing.

I just got the image of a midwife and a woman giving birth swinging towards each other on a trapeze - when they meet, the midwife pulls the baby out. The knife juggler is standing on the floor and cuts the umbilical cord with a a knifethrow.
