Anyone near Kansas City?
« on: 08 Jun 2011, 18:50 »

I know there's a thread about meeting up in the "lower part" of the forums (somewhere - I couldn't find it), but I spend my time "up here", so...

I'm in lovely KC (MO, not KS) for the week (Thurs 6/9 - Wed 6/16), and was wondering if there were any forumites in the area who may like to meet up some evening for drinks or whatever.

Jwhouk, I knew that.  But when I passed through WI on my way to Minnesota back in Feb (who's idea was  that, anyway?), I couldn't stop.

Iduguphergrave, the feeling's mutual, and if you're ever in central PA...

I'll come see you! I'm an interracial bisexual agnostic woman so the deep south is the perfect place for me!   8-)

Idk, I'm bisexual agnostic polyamorous married man... then again, I live in Athens, GA, which is... just very unlike the rest of the South.

Seriously, Patton Oswalts assessment of Athens is really not far off from the truth...

This actually happened to me once while sipping coffee in downtown... except the person in the fairy outfit was a very hairy man with an impressive beard.

Its a weird place.

At the risk of derailing the Missouri thread, are there many forumites from the Deep South? I'm over in Birmingham, AL.

Aw, I'm from Kansas City (though I'm now in Seattle.) You should get some Aurthur Bryant's BBQ and stroll around downtown.

That is, if it's not eleventy billion degrees.  :|

We did  get some Arthur Bryant's.  I do this every year, I've been to Gates, Jack Stacks, Arthur Bryandts, and some bar I was dragged to with excellent  brisket.  Tonight (last night here) I'm going to Quaff's with some friends for their steak special...

I've eaten more meat in a week here than I usually do in a month!

And where the fuck is downtown, anyway?  I've been around the power & light district, and I'm in a hotel near Union Station, the whole city is all spread out.

I'm not from the Deep South, but I do reside in the Capital of the South. You want to talk about random mixes of people?
