The QC drinking game
« on: 28 Jun 2011, 13:41 »

You take a drink when

o Jeph introduces a new character
o Someone says a bad word
o Faye punches somebody
o Marten mopes
o Someone has coffee
o The Roomba reproduces
o Mieville suggests murder
o Marten buys a guitar
o Hannelore washes her hands

What else?

Problem is, that's at most a drink a day.  Unless you're talking about sitting around hitting the random button, or just trawling the archives.  Then you could get very, very drunk very, very quickly!

Nah, the list is too long for it to be a good drinking game. You have to have things you know will happen in the comic on a regular basis, but can't be too obscure because lets face it, once you get started, you're not really going to notice half the minor stuff.

So, take a drink when;
  • Someone swears
  • Faye gets violent
  • Marten mopes
  • Coffee is mentioned or drunk
  • Pintsize gets up to some shenanigans
  • Hanners OCD comes up
  • Marigold bemoans her life
  • Any of the cast is being snarky
  • Steve's girlfriend dumps him
  • Cosette is being the klutz
  • Raven acts dumb
  • Pen-Pen acts elitist and superior to the others

See, theres a proper drinking game for ya! Though you might end up dead from alcohol poisoning afterwards.

Chug for Yelling Bird.

Akronnick, I can think of no more appropriate steed for a Knight Of The Dickbroom than a foul-mouthed, perpetually shouting, lust-crazed bird with a scrotum hanging from its chin and a distinctive cry of "Gobble gobble gobble".   --Tergon

And don't forget the double shots for Randy.

Personally I think it should be a chug for the Bros. Also, if you have any friends with you they must chant Bros while you chug.

An appearance of the Bros should be marked by Jagerbombs!

Yeah...I kinda have this drinking game called I don't drink because I've seen really bad things happen to people who get drunk.

Not to be...facetious or anything. lol.

Maybe there could be an inverse drinking game for teetotallers. Take a drink every time a character gets married, starts a well-paying job, or gets pregnant.

I don't care for the word "teetotaler." I drink alcohol very rarely, maybe twice a year, and when I do, it's not much, but that's not a label I ever really cared for. It's just full of judgment. If I don't go around calling people "sloppy ass drunk," I expect respect in return. :)

You mean going into a thread about a drinking game and talking about how you don't drink because you've seen bad things happen to people who drink.

Yeah, that doesn't, seem judgmental at all. At least, to me, that is, just as judgmental as, the word teetotaler.

Just sayin.

See, I had taken your denial of being facetious as exactly the opposite, and didn't even really take your comment seriously, but your reply does indeed make it look more like you came into a thread about drinking, denounced it, then got upset when someone called you a name traditionally used for someone who goes somewhere where there is drinking and denounces it.

Hey, I'm just trying to represent another side of things.

Ok, there was no way in hell anyone was going to take something like this seriously anyway. Most drinking games are just based on being savvy about the show/movie/song thats involved in the game. Like right now, I'm watching a film called Dog Soldiers, if I wanted to have a laugh with my mates we might have make the game a shot everytime they make a reference to the England/Germany football match, take a sip of beer every time Spoon makes us laugh.

Its not about "Oh hey guys, lets get totally pissed!" its "we're all going to watch something we enjoy, have a laugh and have a couple of drinks".

My favorite drinking game is watching the drunks stagger out of the bar across the street and try to get into their cars.

Then calling the police with their license plate numbers after they leave...

Roll a die for each player.

Each person has to click random and if the event that corresponds to their number comes up, they have to take a swig

1) Hanners mushes her boobs together
2) Someone drinks (double if it's bourbon)
3) Robot comic (pintsize, winslow, and clinton WHYNOT)
4) Indie music reference (you're the designated driver)
5) Faye deliberately avoids contractions
6) Secondary character appearance (Mrs. Reed, etc)

Feel free to make up your own!

The Designated Driver game - you turn down a shot everytime they take a shot.

That reminds me of a joke I heard yesterday:

Customer:  I'd like coffee without cream, please.
Waiter:  I'm sorry sir, we're out of cream.  Could I get you coffee without milk instead?
