I don't know that this is pointless really, but I didn't know where else to put it.  I took this in Detroit.  I don't think I have ever seen a hand painted building sized political statement before.  Also, I like how the building has been tagged by "DEMS" Do you think that is someones real tag, or it has been tagged on behalf of Democrats?

It was being spray-tagged by a guy named "Demsey" who realized the windows would screw up his tag and left in disgust.

I liked it because of the jarring, like, that is the sort of pic that would be on cute overload or some such, but that is what would really happen with a feral kitten.  It is a feral kitten.  and cats eat rabbits, I felt like, it was a beautiful photo, the tension between the expected cute, but false and curated experience of domesticated pets posed to elicit "awwws" and the beautiful but hard to look at and harsh and sad reality of the circle of life.

The kittens that are posed with rabbits and chicks eat those same animals, just pre-dead and ground up and in a can, or in a dried pellet.  I really like the reality of the photo, and even though it is upsetting maybe, I am uplifted by it somehow.

Also, I am drunk, so maybe don't read to much into this, especially if it makes me seem like a sociopath or something.

Two thoughts went through my head:

1: Keep your finger out of the trigger well.

2: That's the wierdest shaped ejection port I've ever seen. But then, I'm about 95% certain that M16 is fake. There's also no forward assist button.

Yay movie prop?

If i rember right ar's dont have forward assist and thats dust cover that protects ejection port from dirt but when chargin handle is pulled back it opens up.

Forward assists come standard on all modern AR variants, although there are a few manufacturers that make their uppers without. I did a bit of research; the original Armalites didn't have a forward assist at all, but what I was pointing out is the lack of the actual button at the end of the end of the forward assist protrusion. The dust cover looks molded into the upper, and the entire thing protrudes too far out. It could just be a very old model, but I'm more inclined to believe it's a prop.

I watch the nature channel all the time and I still don't like watching animals hunt and then eat other animals, whether they're cute or not. It's gross.

I mean, my non-feral cat managed to catch and kill a baby bunny once (luckily he didn't start eating it) and it was patheticute and sad.

A while back our cat would catch and kill squirrels but he would never do anything with them.  He was probably presenting them to us or something?

My housecats would do that with their stuffed mouse toys - I always took it as 'Look, Mom! Look what I did!'. The barn cat when I worked on a farm did the same thing - she'd actually line her trophies up neatly in front of the tackroom door (we're talking four or five mice/shrews), and then she'd devour them. Or parts of them.

The cat in my house brought a wild turkey inside once.
He also brought a live mouse in so he could toy with it more.

He's no longer allowed outside.

Oh, did this turn into the pets thread? Cool. My cat once carried a duckling inside that was 99% unharmed. I was too preoccupied with the way it fell asleep in my palm to notice that he went out and got a second duckling and killed it. That was kinda sad.

We don't try to keep him in the house because he has no notion of what a litter box is. It is an agreement that keep us all satisfied.

When cats bring you dead animals, it's most likely because they think you're crap at hunting.

My last dog before it was my dog used to chase the wild cats (definitely wild, only two other houses within miles and neither owned cats) around the farm. She once got one and bit it in the spine so it ended up paralyzed and my granddad had to put it down.

Why would an animal think you're bad at hunting when it knows you're delivering it food regularly?

Our cat was a beast at catching mice in our old place. (Not to mention that the place was literally OLD and had plenty for the catching)

She would drop them in front of the bedroom door so that we'd see them first thing when we woke up. Good morning! Here's a dead thing!

Apparently, she once jumped into the bed with a mouse in her mouth. Thankfully, that was before I moved in.

When cats bring you dead animals, it's most likely because they think you're crap at hunting.

"Cat acts as a laxative" in the second question made me laugh. Can anyone confirm this to be true?  :-P

My cat once brought a live seagull into the kitchen through two catflaps. The gull was so freaked out and pissed off it perched on top of the fridge, violently attacking anything that moved and in the end we had to call a nice man from the RSPB in some pretty serious kit to remove it. By that time the cat was sleeping peacefully in top of the telly.

Not long after that he caught a large side of salmon seasoned with herbs. Later that evening my parents went to a dinner party a few doors down. Apparently dinner was delayed because the chicken was taking a bit longer to cook than expected.
