So a student talked me into "No-shave November", but as a fair fight, we all had to be clean shaven on Nov 1...

OK, the last time I shaved my chin was when I broke my jaw (25 years ago this friday). The last time I had no moustache was sometime in 1978. My wife had never seen me this way, and says it creeps her out every time she looks at me...

I had whited my face up, but had to wash it off later in the evening.

I'd gone with an outfit to be made into a werewolf but unfortunatly the girls who were going to make me up were only in the middle of setting up the house. So I helped set up the house instead and just tore my clothing, wore white makeup with red round my face and claimed I was a zombie.

5 1/2; his sister is 3. I doubt they did anything at Halloween; they weren't so well last week, and their (American) mother is in South America being strangled by John Malkovich again. They live in Germany, where I don't think Halloween is so big.

a couple nights ago in Queens (Elmhurst) NY.

Hanging stage is hanging.An basically a see-through metal grate. So Maria had to get all fancy and wear underwear.

Went to a cookout. After we ate, people broke out guitars and stuff for the "sing-a-long" portion of the evening, and I had my flute in the car, so what the heck.

I know, lyric sheets. But not everybody knows all the words.

Someone yelled "Flute solo!" so I took one. It seemed to go well.

Orbert, that looks like fun! What were you singing? I was once at a great party with loads of classical musicians and opera students and we had an impromptu concert. I had been planning to sing but I wasn't anywhere close to their league so I bottled out.

It was basic campfire sing-a-long stuff. A bunch of Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver... stuff that old farts like myself who grew up in the 70's would know. Progressions were were simple (lots of A, D, G, and other guitar-friendly chords) so whipping up a countermelody, taking a solo (since no one else wanted to) and/or adding a well-known hook line wasn't a biggie. Pretty amateur stuff, but it was fun.

Same here, everytime I see some kind of see-through metal floor on the street I go as far away from it as I can.

Maria has a bad fear of heights. She had to keep her eyes forward. Also did I mention it jiggled if you moved? Yeah, I could tap my foot- that's about it.
