Greetings and Salutations.
« on: 18 Oct 2011, 21:50 »

Hey there. As you can see, I am quite new here.

Any community standards I should know about?

Welcome, new person!

Anyone who asks first about community standards is the kind of person who's likely to fit in. We've tried to document everything important in the rules threads and the Welcome and Conduct threads of the comic forum. It generally boils down to acting like Jeph's guest: don't get in fights with the other guests, don't post sleazy sexual things about his brainchildren, and so on.

Mostly.  But please, take the time to actually read them.

(those are links to the appropriate areas, not just underlined words.  Click, please!)

Hello and welcome, feel free to get used to the elitist impression most members are sporting as soon as you possibly can.

(We come here for the comic, but we stay for the dysfunctional family drama. :) )

I did before signing up (That whole net etiquette thing again). Was mostly wondering about any unwritten rules that any well established community usually has. When ever I join a site, I ask that to avoid any faux pas that I might encounter.

Unwritten rules suck. If you stumble across any, PM a moderator and we'll add them to the written rules.

Elitist?

Man, just try  and be helpful around here...
