Apparently, the boss has mused on this:

Quote from: jeph jacques (twitter)
  • If QC ever gets optioned I will demand that Scott Bakula play Marten's dad and/or post-apocalyptic older Marten
  • Angelina Jolie as Marten's mom
  • Alex Skarsgard as Sven, obviously
  • Lady Gaga (in a fat suit or after gaining a bunch of weight a la DeNiro in Raging Bull) as Marigold
(Same crazy outfits as she usually wears, though.)
  • Ke$ha as Raven because I wanna troll the audience a lil'
  • Ed Asner as Pintsize. Not just the voice, they're shrink him down.
  • No idea who'd play Hanners. I am not up on my young, scared-looking actresses.
  • Dita Von Teese as Dora, Christina Hendricks as Faye (who CARES if she's too old)
(Now I am imagining Christina Hendricks with short hair and chunky glasses and I need to be alone for a little while)
  • Lots of people saying Dakota Fanning for Hanners, googled her and yeah I can see it
  • OH MY GOD YES “@Tranderas: @jephjacques Could troll the audience a LOT and have Rebecca Black play Dora.”
  • Pretty sure Jimbo would have to be played by @wigu
  • Carey Mulligan would make a good Hanners or Tai #okayImdone

Sorry to bump this, but I sorta thought that Pintsize, WInslow, Momo, etc. would have identical voices as their owners, only run through auto-tune.

As for the characters, I don't really have an opinion - we all "hear" the characters in different voices, and it would be interesting to know if Jeph imagines voices for the characters as he writes the strips -  but I am totally surprised nobody suggested Ellen DeGeneres as Tai.

Jeph said once that he imagines Dora sounding like Jane Lane from Daria. Momo is "Squeaky but with very precise enunciation".

So, basically Hynden Walch reprising her Starfire voice, only with more worldliness. Momo's no innocent.

Probably not very imaginative on my part, but we could dig up Mel Blanc and have him reprise his Twiki voice for Pintsize. Without the Beedebedebedebede.

... and June Foray's still around, so we've got things covered, then (Her Rocky the Flying Squirrel voice would be perfect for Hanners). Now, for limited animation: Filmation, Hanna-Barbera, Jay Ward or UPA style?

Sadly, there is no way QC could become an animated show. Jeph would have to give up control of his characters for that to happen and with his attitude toward shipping, I can't imagine he'd be willing to give some random strangers in Hollywood control of his characters.

Hollywood?
why them?

and he wouldn't need to give up anything.  he could be supervisor of the production and sole copyright holder therefore complete control over the characters.
ofcourse i don't see QC being animated (not counting gif) for very various different reasons.

There's always those do-it-yourself talking Teddy bear animations, the ones with the Speak'n'Spell voices.

Groenig did it with the Simpsons and futurama.  I know, those didn't start as comics, but he did Life in Hell before animating a Simpson's short for the Tracy Ullman show (and all the young'uns say, "who?").

Patrick Warburton as all the male characters, Tara Strong as all the female characters, and H. Jon Benjamin as all the robot characters. All dialogue is shouted.

It would be awfully silly and I'd probably be the only person on earth who'd watch it, but damn I'd enjoy it.

You are wrong about being the only person to watch it, and I've put the reason why in bold. And underline. That man's voice is a treasure.

I'd watch cause all the dialogue is shouted. It's funny even thinking about it. Hehe.

Raises a horrible image: A group trawl through the archives, a kind of cruise, a fresh examination of the canon, for those who don't spend enough time in the QCverse and the forum already. Ewwww! And once it launched, who could stay on the dock, waving goodbye to those who had waived their sanity?

To be honest, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the comic-world concept. I've gone back to a definition a couple of times and understand it when I read it, but it's hard to connect the word with the concept. I'd better post it to my desktop. Hate to be guilty of the real thing.

It's really not worth the effort.

And, if you're older more mature than about fifteen, you're ulikely to do it by accident, because it's (by definition) out of character.

OK, I took another look at "shipping" in Urban Dictionary, and once I saw it was short for "relationship" and "relationshipping," both as verbs, it made more sense.
