I've always wondered, what the hell does world music even mean? Like, is it just influenced by everything?

Kronos play avant garde music...

i sincerely hope you're joking there, Mr Hodges, they seriously do NOT play avant-garde music - at least, not by my reckoning.

Good trip to Germany, i hope?

KID THEODORE is an independent band hailing from Utah's Salt Lake Valley. I've been raving about these guys on Gabbly and in the local bands thread, so I figured I'd give you all a taste. Here is their (out-of-print, but still available on iTunes and Amazon.com) debut EP:

goodnight...goodnight EP

I can't be bothered to hunt for a review on this one, so I'll just link you to their bio page where you can read more about them: http://www.kidtheodore.com/Bio).html

My favorite songs here are "Lonely Angel" and "Fashion-Able." You can also check out the songs "Call of the Wild" and "Os Passarinhos" on their website to get a fuller sampling of their musical range. If you like these songs, please support them. As I said, the EP is available on iTunes and Amazon.com, as is their LP "Hello Rainey," which can also be ordered on CD through their site ($14 includes shipping).

Or you could just listen to it, I guess. Your ears will still love you in the morning.

I love you.

Rules:

No hot-linking images or albums. You can re-host images at http://imageshack.us.

Ensure your tags are correct and that you have specified both Artist/Album in your post.

Upload your files in either a .zip or a .rar archive to mediaf!re.com, in multiple parts if the album is over 100mbs. The reason for this is that we know mediaf!re is safe and efficient and allows multiple downloads. The ads on other sites, such as Sendspace, are known to contain viruses on the page. Get yourself checked out.

Post your link using code tags. It's the # icon above the policeman emoticon. This prevents the links from being traced back to the forums, lowering the chance that the wrong people notice the thread, potentially threatening Jeph with legal action.

Also, please do NOT request albums.

Repost the rules at the top of each new page.

Posting one of my favorite albums of all time. Came out this past year.

The Dodos - Visiter

Quote
Country-blues fingerpicking meets West African Ewe drumming meets metal meets indie pop sounds like an all-too-wacky description on a band's MySpace page, but the Dodos turn these far-flung elements into delightfully natural-sounding music. What holds it all together is Meric Long and Logan Kroeber's strong pop sensibilities -- that's "pop" in the sense of memorable melodies and ear-catching hooks, because the Dodos' songs are too full of ideas to stick to a verse-chorus-verse format for very long. Though the Dodos play mostly acoustic instruments, they generate a lot more energy than many plugged-in bands, and with their rapid dynamic shifts, at times they even rock harder, too (that's where the metal influence comes in). It's a good thing the band only has two core members, since Long and Kroeber have so much going on already that there isn't much room for many other sounds or players.

Is there any easy way to download all of those Dodos tracks instead of doing them one at a time?
