I whistle songs I know that are playing very loudly from my PC at that time. It's like 2 meters from eachother. So I whistle me some Slagmalsklubben (extreme whistle music :X).

I only sing in the car or when my wife is watching glee. I always always sing in a very high falsetto voice.

I sing, do little voices, and maybe even talk with myself from time to time. Shower time is a time for introspection. Or, you know, other stuff

I sing in the shower, while cooking, doing housework etc. etc. I sing Western pop-songs, Mandopop, the old shidaiqu songs my Grandma plays, and even bits of the revolutionary songs I learned in the Young Pioneers...

I'm a terrible singer but I do sing in the shower, I think because the lack of a potential audience lowers inhibitions. But singing/humming a tune is enjoyable even if it sounds like crap. I don't know for sure why humans enjoy singing alone. Maybe it has something to do with self-stimulating the part of the brain that enjoys music. That makes sense, right?

I whistle up and down the halls at work. I sing when I walk the dogs, mostly practising longer story oriented songs as a memory exercises and to pass the time (G&S patter songs, Christmas in the Trenches, and several others).

I have no shower - the bathroom's been restored to its 1927 splendor with the original huge white tub my wife calls the Lusitania. I want to plumb in a shower, but that menas tearing the place up, and we only have the one bathroom... time and money won't allow for it right now ayway. I don't sing in the bath, though. Well, not often...

I sing in a black metal band so in the shower I practice my songs. Or think about death. As the singer in a black metal band I think both are OK.

I have never sung in the bath or in the shower; but I enjoy singing, especially in choirs (I think harmony does more for me than melody), and sometimes sing while walking the dogs. None of the poll options fits this.

I do not sing in the shower but I always sing in the car if I am alone, mostly due to the fact that if someone is with me I'm probably talking to them because I'm not a rude asshole who turns music up when I have passengers unless we both like the song and are okay with it.
Once my flatmate and I just broke out singing Alicia Keyes "No One" while driving to... somewhere.
I also sing in my room a lot, when I have music on.

Oh not fair, I would have gone for that option! I can't actually remember what I did say. I think that people would be mad with me, because I would feel awkward singing in the shower when anyone walking down the corridor might hear. I only sing in choir or in a music practice room, these days.

Actually, you can't. You need to check the box that allows people to change votes when the poll's first made, it can't be changed retroactively.

You could always reset it, let us know, and we'll all revote accordingly...

Probably the same for me although my band is sludge/stoner metal so it's just pissed off yelling most of the time.

I do not sing in the shower, but I do sing while I am playing my guitar. I also sing (in my mind, not aloud) while I am waiting at places, such as at the doctor's office. This is to help me learn new lyrics, usually.

I'll be singing tonight, at choir practice. Then again Sunday morning.

I'm the only bass, which is ironic, because I'm actually a tenor with a wide range. I can't hit the really low notes (A an octave below middle C is about it if there's to be any volume), but it's better than the other two tenors can do, so I'm bass by default (on a good day, I can sing with the altos, too).

But when we did the Hallelujah chorus for Easter, I sang tenor because the other two guys can't hit the really high notes anymore... so they sang bass. Handel was a sadist, anyway.

Do you mean learning them or inventing them? Because I occasionally learn lyrics to a song I used to hear regularly. That's a weird thing, sometimes there's a song playing in my head where some of the lyrics are unintelligible, then suddenly, vocal processing kicks in on the auditory memory and I realize what the lyrics are.

Learning them. Part of my learning efforts involve learning new songs from a book and/or recordings, and I sing them to myself to assist the learning the lyrics process. I don't really invent or write songs myself. The songs are mostly old folk songs/college drinking songs and such.

I love to sing, and haven't been in a chorus of any sort in maybe 15 years, so I sing every chance I get. Especially when there's music playing that I like, but even when there isn't. Mostly stuff I already know well. The only time I make up music is when I'm singing to my pets - I make up songs about them and they look at me like I'm insane.

Also I can't whistle.

I used to own that CD. My favorite song was their cover of "How Soon is Now" where it seems like they think that "son and heir" is "sun and air". I don't know how I think I can tell that, since the words sound the same, but something about their articulation, and the way she takes a breath before heir/air makes me think they are singing the wrong words. Also the pronunciation of "need"
