I'll drink to that. What's the discussion forum beer of choice for drinking in agreement? Don't want to commit a faux pas with my Yuengling Black&Tan or Negro Modelo.

Why do I get the feeling this is gonna deteriorate into a debate between sorta-old and kinda-old people about the "old times" being much better than "today's youth"...
Inevitably, someone's gonna say "Youth is wasted on the young." and everything will spiral downwards from there.
(Hey, seems its my turn to be misanthropic this week)

Sexual awakening for Marten. About time. After this, he should be much more up-beat for a while.  :-D

See, I was right, they were at Marten's. And I am still curious why they didn't go to Padma's when they were right by the door.

I wondered about that when you metioned it last week.  I'm not convinced they were at Padmas, it may well have been some other similarly painted building (white brick/stucco, brown shutters/windows).  In particular, the shrubbery's different.

OK, why  am I even thinking  about this??

Because, apparently, discussing wall coverings is much more interesting than SEX.

... is this comic desensitizing us to drama, hot chicks and the combination thereof?

You think Jeph would include a tie-in like that?

If we see poor Marten start hanging around in a dingy pizza bar and having nightmares that involve endless block climbing, I guess we'll know.

Of course, that would fundamentally change the nature of Padma's existence, too...

Having Marten's relationships with Dora and Padma spiral into something like Catherine would make me laugh.

And it would make the appearance of that creepy tapir in Hannelore's mind that much more relevant and foreshadowing!

NO RULES MEANS NO PANTS.

Sorry, I had to. :P And if somebody gets the reference, well, that's absolutely fantastic.

Are the streets of Northampton deserted, or does nobody think it odd when people walk down the street without pants? I distinctly remember Hannelore doing something like this before.

Maybe Padma is strong anti-anxiety medication.

That would be a nasty, stomp on Marten but good plot twist.  Padma is on the same stuff as Hannelore was when she first appeared.  She stops taking it for whatever reason, although Hanners pointing out the weirdness it caused her seems the obvious path, and suddenly she's not into Marten anymore.

Well considering the library boss is an acid-dropping DJ/erotic writer who once had a rave on the fourth floor and managed to get away with it, yes, I'm sure they are used to stranger things.

Well... studies have shown that having sex the evening before a huge exam/test actually helps with performance anxiety... maybe in Marten's case it even helps with "life anxiety"?

But really, any generalizing statement about sex is false by default. There is many different kinds of sex.

Well... studies have shown that having sex the evening before a huge exam/test actually helps with performance anxiety... maybe in Marten's case it even helps with "life anxiety"?

So is eating fish before an exam, but you don't see people flaunting that idea round.
Is that a real thing? °O

@Carl-E:
Good sex, bad sex, really bad sex, fulfilling sex, vengeance sex, stressing sex, relaxed sex, funny sex, bored sex, sleepy sex, dry humping... I feel like I forgot a few thousand... all with their own set of emotional and physical consequences. ^^

edit: Almost forgot "butts"-sex.

COMIC.

And of course Dora's emergency skirt wouldn't really suit!

ItsodoesITSODOES!

(edit: Bwahaha... caught your uncredited edit on its ass!)

... ahh... whew... Dora hasn't ripped any heads of. Contrary to what some people have theorized, she is not the vengeful - even though sometimes anxious - type.
I am glad there are still characters in this comic that operate at a normal level of emotional responses to trickier situations. :-D

Look at Dora being all sensible and grown up :-)

And Marten all Deer-in-the-headlights :-)

Why do I get the impression that Dora never caused Marten to leave the house sans pants?

LOL.

Hmm. So when in need of emergency caffeine, Marten's autopilot still takes him to CoD instead of tSB? It would have been hilarious to also see Padma's reaction to Marten's state of (un)dress, but this works just as well if not better.

Calling it now: By the time Marten manages to get home, to be questioned by Faye (and Angus?) about last night ...

... he will once more have forgotten his lack of pants.  8-)

Actually, I get the impression that she HAS caused him to leave the house sans pants. Multiple times. She certainly doesn't seem to regard it as unusual. :P
And woooow, Dora has a haircut! A really nice one, too!

Actually, for a guy who's supposedly hopeless with the ladies (it was one of about four regular themes of the first 500 strips), all the available evidence suggests that Marten managed to find a new partner before Dora did.

:psyduck:

Granted, this might have been because Dora tried to move on too quickly, but still...

EDIT: By GOD, who the put up the new poll? That "filed at the library" joke is possibly the nerdiest I've ever seen...  :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck:
