Australia readers, watch Twitter closely
« on: 16 Jan 2012, 23:00 »

The newspost says there will be a meetup at Hyde Park in Sydney "tomorrow" at 6 PM, updates to arrive via Twitter.

"Tomorrow" in quotes because from here it's already tomorrow in Australia.

For the benefit of non-Sydneysiders, Jeph is referring to the Archibald Fountain, and it looks like this:

Unfortunately, owing to prior work commitments, I won't be able to make it to the meet-up.
Make Jeph and Cristi feel welcome!

Sadly, I know a lot of people who were unable to make it to the meet-up due to work or other assorted distractions.

In spite of this, I'd say the turnout was absolutely fantastic. ;D
There were at least 50 people there, but if I'd bothered to count them, I would probably have come up with something closer to 100. And everyone was really nice.
I've never been to a fan meet-up like that before, so it was really something to see all those people.

(Incidentally, Jeph is a great guy. Really. I'm not just saying that cause this is his forum.)

I took a heap of photos and put the nicest (non-blurry) ones on flickr. I couldn't capture how big the crowd was or how ridiculous the line up for drawings was, though.

Here's the flickr set, let me know if you see yourself in the crowd.
