Given the current state of global affairs, this one feels pretty much obligatory:
(warning, recorded in the 60s, so some language that is "dated" at best)

Don't think there'd be a problem with it.

But if the name in particular is important to you, then you're probably referring to a real person.

And if a specific real person is identifiable from the lyrics of the song, and they're not a "public figure" of some kind, there could be repercussions.  At least, in America there could.

So has someone whose name is Aspen done something noteworthy, heinous, glorious, stupid, and/or hilarious?

I was looking at old posts of mine here, being with Covid for the third time, and I had a thought: Lily Allen (the singer) and Alphie Allen (who played Theon Greyjoy on GoT), her brother. If they had a fallout, how would it play out? She has a song, "Alphie", that paints him in a negative perspective. He seems to have taken it in good cheer.

EDIT: Seriously, even with vaccination (which does not seem to be very popular around here (And I came to my hometown to escape from covid!)), new variants seems to keep coming here.

Most recently I "found" (mostly thanks to Bandcamp algorithms) Julieta Eugenio, an Argentinian saxophonist relocated in New York. In most of the YT material she is playing jazz standards (nothing wrong with that), but she leads a new trio, and their first album (with a mixture of her own compositions and standards) just came out.

This one was chilling (along with the “Volk” album in general) when released, but has gotten so much more so with current events:

'80s Goth band from Leeds. Ideas? We were making a playlist with my sister-in-law and my brother half an hour ago, and I could not remember.

Sisters of Mercy.

Edit:

This one is sadly topical again.

My father passed away at 85. Thinking about playing this at the memorial. I find the part starting at about 6:50 particularly touching.

So this time I am promoting the work of a Finnish group. The composer (and the lead and the pianist) is Aurora Hentunen. She studied music at Groningen, Netherlands, graduated, and moved back home (partly due to covid induced reduction in the number of possibilities of an up-and-coming artist).

A few years ago, I fell down the YouTube rabbit hole of 80s Australian and NewZealand music. Discovered all kinds of amazing bands that never got airplay in the states at the time. It was really like living through that fabulous era of music once again, discovering new artists of a style that defined a lot of my musical tastes. Goanna and this song was certainly one of my favorites of the bunch.

I won't lie - I'm an idiot, a nut, a loser, and a lush, but with every year of my life, I become increasingly convinced that this is the best song ever written.

I remember being in a non-profit that made me turn it off at the second Walmart jingle.

Do I just listen to an abnormally large amount of music or something?

Anyways, here's a harp piece inspired by Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and the Zelda: Breath of the Wild Main Theme.

The last addition from me. From Linda Fredriksson's album "Juniper" (they/them/their). Earlier I knew them from a punk jazz band Mopo - great tongue-in-cheek stuff. Their new band is more seriously jazzy. I was at their gig last Spring. It was quite intense. They were so exposed, squatting on stage. Surrounded by bandmates and fans, yet they were so exposed there. Sharing their pain.

My favorite track from that album is titled "Tepalle", dedicated to their grandma.
