Perhaps QC's resident catalyst, currently rockin' the party dress, will rise to the occasion, with the ensuing of attendant hilarity, of course.

Perhaps Hanners should have invited DJ Tai_Fighter up to run the mix at the party.

It's always the drunk Astronemers that start the trouble isn't it.     :-D

Maybe Velma will take pity on our two heros and talk them in to going on a tour of the lower levels where 'The Station Ghost' is rumoured to dwell.

I consider myself justifiably intimidated by the really tiny orange-haired lady who, despite her size, is determined to hold back that massive, muscly drunk person.
Kudos, nameless background lady with orange hair.

I'd say it was Washu-chan, but the hair isn't big enough: http://tenchi.wikia.com/wiki/Washu

I'm intrigued by the tiny redhead near the punch table who shows up in the next comic restraining Beardy McArguer.

Child prodigy? Daughter of one of the residents? Or just short?

So... Marten as matchmaker now, is it?

Some of the most relaxed Marten images we've seen recently, I think.

He better hope his jokes are supereffective.

He probably needs a Love Ball to catch her.

When he proposes (boy, that's jumping ahead just a tad, but it's in service of the joke!), he should ask if she wants to tag team battle with him for the rest of their lives.

They should be prepared for their relationship to evol-aaaaaugh!

I probably could have come up with better ones, but I'm tir- no, it's coming back with a friend!

Moment of the Week right there, folks! Panel 2b!

Whatever the wing-man equivalent of a pick-up line is, that was the best one ever.

And I'm not going to let Jeph's "uh-oh" make me uneasy. I refuse to believe that anything bad will come of this situation until I see it with my own eyes!
And then of course, I will see it with my own eyes, and it will catch me completely off-guard. That's what makes QC's depressing moments so special. :P

Marty used Psychic on Scientist.  :psyduck:

It's super effective.

Scientist is confused.

Scientist "attacks" Marigold with Flirting out of confusion.  -10HP!

Be careful.  Sir York may use a Love Ball.  I bet Marigold dodges and York has to use his Master Ball.

Ahhh.  Marty could be a match maker.  Lord knows he blows at matching himself to ladies.  Maybe he's better at doing it for others.

For comic #2138...

1. I really liked how Marten is channelling Dora for this moment.  Jeph could have subtituted Dora for Marten panel for panel in this strip without having to change any lines.  But this moment really suits Marten.

2. I also enjoyed how everyman Marten was able to cow probable I.Q. 130+ space scientist Francis York, gave me a good chuckle at panel #4.  Also enjoyed Marten being called "Mr. Reed" with nervous respect.

3. Hopefully this mini-story of Francis York and Marigold Louise Farmer will be a happy (if not "fun") one.

4. I agree with pwhodges, with these closer-up shots of Marten, it is clear now that he has lost the bags under his eyes.  Good for him (hopefully).

5. Oh good, Hanners still has her lipstick on.  I was afraid she might have nervously sucked it in and swallowed  .

6. I hope there will be dancing at this party.  Jeph has said he enjoys drawing dancing strips.  Maybe even zero-G dancing.

7. With drunken prinicipled girls, nicely dressed not-cyborg girls, curvy wallflower girls, and whatever else may yet come with this story-arc, I may be moderately disappointed if with there are no zero-G make-outs resultant from all this :-\ .

8. As for what Pokemon has to do with space-time tensor fields?  There probably is a pocket monster out there that warps Euclidian space in order to attack from multiple vectors in order to strike at critical stress points.

Or laser boomerangs.
It could shoot laser boomerangs.

Based on Marten's expression in the last panel (and Jeph has gone pretty good at expressions), he may have done it for both the sweet and the funny.

I have an idea about what could follow that covers both, actually:
They try to discuss their respective areas of expertises with much incomprehension growing up to hilarous degrees of awkwardness.
Then, after being embarrassed and speechless for a little while, they just end up making out.

What if Tensor Guy has an intracranial implant and looks up Pokemon on his way over to stare at his feet and stammer?

If that's all he's gonna do, why bother?

Aww...There goes my guessing. I thought Marten and Marigold were going to get together. I mean they may not be the perfect couple, but I think they could work together fairly well.

I hope Francis works out for Marigold. High time that girl got some romance plot. (She is my favorite character). Teehee.

Maybe Tensor Guy will work up the courage to stare at Marigold's shoes!

Marten's been good for Marigold but there's nothing in canon to suggest them getting together. In fact, she seems to be destined for another.

8. As for what Pokemon has to do with space-time tensor fields?  There probably is a pocket monster out there that warps Euclidian space in order to attack from multiple vectors in order to strike at critical stress points.

Dialga, Spacial Rend. :D

I am really enjoying this arc. It gets the characters apart and in a new situation for a while, which should be useful.

Oooh, Marten The Intimidator

Does Krod Mandoon have competition?    :-D

This could either be interesting or a very bad Shuttle wreck depending on whether Tensor Guy and MariBear get on.

I thought it was the brontosaur that had the teleportation issues? The raptor is in a gallery somewhere.

I predict the whole station, yes, including Station, will get into Pokémon in the end and mess up the whole operation.
