No way. Panel 6 is much, much better.

Marigirl is probably leading a healthier lifestyle now and may have dug out of her cave far enough to be concerned about appearance and get some acne medication.

Much as I liked "what do you know about pokemon", I don't think it represents anything new in Marten's character. He already mostly had the social awareness and communications chops to pull that off.

Hanners' encouragement represents a way she's sharing her discoveries with Marigold... They're learning social awareness
as bros (plus she overcame her untouchy-unfeely-ness to deliver the message). So I voted for that.

I don't think she was. That blushing looks more like general embarrassment at an awkward social situation.

I rather liked Hanners telling Marten to get her a drink; rawr girl. I love it when she's forceful.

She's done that before - I recall the Tom Collins recipe for cleaning vomit.  It sound like her mother coming through, the casual ordering that needs be met, as opposed to the brilliant curiosity / cluelessness she's obviously gotten from her father...

Hannelore seems to have a pretty good intellectual grasp of the subject, starting with her lecture to Marten in her first appearance. What she is missing is the perspective that comes with practical experience.

Why does Marigold go to parties without her portable social protocol database?

I believe Momo was prohibited from attending the festivities on the station.

This may beg a question: why?

This may beg a question: why?
...That's not how you use 'to beg a question'.

I asked why Momo wasn't there, and jwhouk posted an explanation which left open the question of "why". I believe that is a correct use of "to beg a question", and not the popular misuse where it's used as a way of saying "to invite a question".

That also leaves the question of why Marigirl hasn't taken Momo to planetside social events like the Horrible Revelation excursion.

Perhaps consumer-grade AIs are too flaky for a controlled environment. Imagine Momo having a tantrum like the one that blew up Marigirl's gaming rig, but near an important piece of equipment. One would hope that all the _really_ important machines are behind locked doors, but we can be confident that nothing there is cheap.

You got it wrong. You're supposed to say "Oh, yah dere hey, aina?"

Yah, shoore, you betcha.

So, pretty warm for winter dis year...

Now that's just the wrong state (I'm not in Minne-sooooota). And "pretty warm" only applies for the southern part of WIS - and NOT the part where I live.

As for Momo - maybe there is some part of the station where they use heavy-duty magnetics, which would basically destroy any APC's internal hard drive (and prevent it from "bailing out" via Wi-Fi).

IOW - visiting the Station would essentially be like us visiting the Fukushima Power Plant without a radiation protection suit.

It's also an alarming sign of how much of a shut-in Marigold is that Hanners gets to help her in this.

That's the first thing I noticed in this comic. It's quite extreme tbh.
