« on: 09 Mar 2012, 15:13 »

Hi, I'm Jack. Been reading for a little over two(?) years now, but didn't even realize there was a forum...bit slow ^_^

Nothing more to say...but if anyone would like to warn me of who/what to avoid, it'd be appreciate so I could go check it out anyway :D

Well, it's all laid out in the rules and notes in the Rules subforum above, and a couple of stickies in the QC Discussion below.

That's the what.  As far as whom to avoid, yer on yer own...

Lamp from the Greek lampas  via Latin, then French - any kind of light producer is a lamp.

When electric lights came out, Edison's lamps took the common name "light bulb" from their shape.  Electricians and others still refer to all light bulbs as lamps, especially those that aren't bulb-shaped (like the flourescent tubes Tesla invented...)

Oh, wait, was it a riddle or something?   :psyduck:

Pintsize's Twitter feed is often mentioned as something to avoid.

Weird. I thought lamp just referred to the thing the bulb went in, not the bulb itself.

Welcome!

Going back to your question, some of the hottest buttons in the rules are about playing sex games with the characters, either lusting after them or cramming two characters into bed who don't want to be there.

...or who Jeph doesn't want to be there. (Which means essentially Hannelore and anyone.)
