I stole the password from my old office to use at my new job. It has numbers so it's easier to change when the system demands it. I only have one program where I'm using my personal password since it doesn't have to change, and I do get mixed up sometimes.

I have two types of passwords that both have elements I can rotate around, since my college password makes you change it every six weeks and it won't let you use a previous password.

I work at the Video Online team at my faculty in University, so the log in is Video Online.

The password is audiooffline.

Someone had a very creative moment there.

In my college a student can use a mac with a very easy to guess password. I also heard the password to the college WiFi was something like, "GetMeTheHellOutOfHere" but never chanced entering it.

you'd have to have local access to the machine, which you don't. That mac doesn't exist in the university network, which coincidentally can also only be accessed through PCs connected to it.

Dammit,  they're shutting down/retiring San Onofre. >_< And no indication they're gonna be replacing it with a new one either.

We need more nukes,  not less. >_<

Here's to a big 'ol hike in our electric bill.  >_>

Chernobyl would say otherwise. But this is not the Discuss thread so I'm not going to discuss this further.

When Britain shuts down its last nuclear power station, it will no longer have sufficient native generating capacity for peak winter requirements.  We already import electricity from France, who have built nuclear power plants to supply us - how crazy is that?  And don't get me started on the misconceptions about Chernobyl (my wife used to lecture on the subject).

But this is not the Discuss thread so I'm not going to discuss this further.

You're better disciplined than me!

In certain regions of Holland, a Gaggle can also refer to a group of adolescent females.

Primo, I think clique refers to a social construct, I am looking for the more... quantitative term.

I discovered a town in Northern Ireland colloquially refers to women/girls as "blades". I doubt that's the spelling and I don't know the reason but there ya go.

According to this, it's either a bevy or a gaggle. Which seems slightly sexist as they are both collective nouns for birds.

When Britain shuts down its last nuclear power station, it will no longer have sufficient native generating capacity for peak winter requirements.  We already import electricity from France, who have built nuclear power plants to supply us - how crazy is that?

Don't think of it as importation; think of it as enslavement of the ancient enemy.

I wonder if anyone ever tried to improve the design of the fork we've all been using for, what, hundreds of years?

Huh. That's an interesting question. There are, obviously, certain kinds of forks optimized for certain kinds of food, such as the cake fork. Your question made me read the (German) Wikipedia article on forks. It lists at least ten kind of forks (including those which are used simply for serving meat and the like). Also, it points out that the relevant edge of the cake fork is on the left side, which, I suppose, is optimized for right-handers. Are there "flipped" forks for left-handers, I wonder?

Relevant:

http://xkcd.com/419/

Also, regarding
what, hundreds of years?

It says that at least the ancient Romans used forks, but mostly for serving, not for eating.

Is it weird I prefer chopsticks to forks and spoons? I just find they're easier to use for pretty much everything.

That isn't a 20oz steak, but I tend to eat that by tearing chunks out of it in the corner growling at any one who gets close any way.

How do you eat soup with chopsticks?

I agree they have their uses, and I do use them for Asian food up to a point, but they also have their limits.

Well OK, maybe you had me fooled there (though I did wonder for a time if it was a Bleach reference that I didn't get; after all, there's a scene in the Evangelion manga where a kitten's neck is broken) - but c'mon, it was not a pleasant read as it stood.  If actually presented as a riddle, perhaps...
