Oh, okay. Didn't get that at all. Sounded pretty mean and confusing. :psyduck:

Fixed now.  (Edit: Eh. New page. Might as well put it here!)

I just (a few minutes ago, that is) dropped the corner of a easily 100 lb tabletop (it was turned vertical, I was carrying one end) onto my big toe - my big toe that happened to already have a badly ingrown toenail. I let our side very loud expletives I'm sure the next building over heard.

On topic: Why do some people get up in arms over spoilers in some media, but not others? I've always seen huge flame wars over spoilers to an anime (For example, TTGL aired 6 years ago, but people still get pissed at the ep 9 spoiler), but the same people will be indifferent to a TV spoiler from last year, or a Book spoiler after two months.

Is it perhaps because people are dickhead hypocrites sometimes and apply double-standards liberally as they see fit?

The store didn't have the deodorant I usually use, so I bought the first one with a smell I could tolerate.  Now that it is on me, it seems to smell like my first boyfriend :/

I suppose, my very first boyfriend I dated for 6 days when I was 13, and I don't know his name any more.  This was this smells like the guy I dated for 9 months in high school, and who was my first sex partner.

Also, instigator of my only threesome.   After we broke up.  :-P

It's rather weird that I remember my Ex's appearance sorta vividly, considering she stopped dyeing her hair, cut it short, then let it grow out again since we broke up. She's currently been dating my (now ex) coworker who just left our workplace to move in with her after two years and three months (Which was kinda where our timeframe used to be). I'm surprisingly ok with all of this.

After we broke up, my first girlfriend started dating this guy who got her hooked on a few different hard drugs simultaneously. I still haven't totally forgiven myself for breaking up with her because of that being one of the end results, but I do know that realistically, it can't be my fault. It's the fault of a very horrible young man who took advantage of a young, naive teenage girl. It's just tragic to think that somebody I truly loved had her life permanently ruined.

I think this is a big part why I don't really do relationships anymore.

First girlfriend? Many sweet memories. Also memories of many mistakes. Googled her up once. She's a doctor in charge of the chronic pain ward at a local hospital. No recollection of her scent, but she will forever be 19 years old in those dreams.

I remember the first important girlfriend... not really her scent though. Those were some damn good times, a lot of fun was had over that year... lot of terrifying and stress heavy stuff for me too... Apparently she's working at a hair salon now. Amusingly the best thing I got from my relationship with Dana was her best friend A(female), who is now my best friend in every sense of the term. No one is closer to me besides my blood brother R(male). Neither of us (A and I) speak to D any more. Long story, but she managed to shove both of us away and we just kinda rolled with it. "Hey what she did to you was bullshit, You're still awesome though." "So are you. I heard she pulled similar bullshit on you right?" "Yep, Forget that redheaded bitch and carry on?" "Fuck yeah!" and so a friendship was born XD

I remember my first ex. I remember the extasy of having something happen between me and her that was graspable and felt right. I remember the horror and pain when I was told it was over. I remember the anger and fury when I found out that my friend was playing me and was screwing her a week after she dumped me.

I still remember the first girl I felt something for. I never had a girlfriend, but I still remember every girl I've crushed for, and am friends with the last one.

Mind, the first girl was in second grade, so I'm surprised I've never forgotten her. IIRC she started working as a car mechanic a while ago.

So what you are saying is that your ex is cheesy.

I am not sure I remember my first ex's (R) scent. I would probably recognize it in an instant, though. I remember other things. The first date, the way we sat in an ice cafe on 14th January, eating icecream, and a child ran to our table and randomly said "Happy New Year!", which made both of us laugh; the first kiss which lasted forever, while there was a photographer bustling around, photographing the city below us; going down from that hill we kissed on, be lighting the way with my crappy mobile; the first few *cough* "intimate dates" in an unobserved corner of the Starbucks on one of the more prominent streets of her town; the first time she snuck me home for a few hours of the night because her mother was coming from work late; me entering and saying "wow, your appartment is pretty!"; me being there again officially, with her mother present, entering and saying "wow, your appartment is pretty!" x); celebrating her sweet 18 in Poland, and the argument I had with her mother; the argument I had with her mother on the last day of the vacation, when I threw a door in the mothers face, sending R into a catatonic state as we continued to argue and both of us backing down as we realized it. The problems we had. Making sure none of my stuff is at her place while she was packing for her next vacation. Breaking up with her via text while she was on that vacation, because I could not continue to pretend being invested in the relations hip for another two weeks, and feeling miserable about it nonetheless. Seeing her again for one last time after that at a convention.
Yes, I remember a few things.
I also remember things about my most recent ex, D, but I should NOT start digging around in my memory now.

Hahaha, perhaps a brushing is in order?

I think one of my most enlightening relationship experiences didn't involve any of my serious girlfriends. It did however involve my middle school crush. I was a very quiet dork in middle school. I read constantly, screwed around on the internet (I was helping manage a youth activism community called YouthNoise before I was a freshman in High School XD) and generally didn't have many friends, she was popular, and drop dead gorgeous. Still is for that matter, well High School changed some things, namely a growth spurt, getting more serious about martial arts and a couple years of foot ball. Then the Marine Corps hammered that out into the professional asshole I am today. While I was home on leave I ran into my old crush again and asked her out... and I wish I hadn't. The date was fun, her company enjoyable, but having a fantasy shattered is always an illuminating experience about people and how the world actually works.

Huh.

Somebody who was an active member at a forum I used to visit and a less active member on a forum I still visit a lot just passed away after a car/lawn mower accident two weeks ago. He was only 16.

Even though I barely knew him, it feels awful. He was a very energetic and smart member of the forum.

I have had 10 birthday notifications on my Facebook newsfeed over the past week. Considering the relatively low amount of people I actually know and add, it feels like someone's fucking with me. (Or a lot of people were fucking with each other during various octobers.)

They recently changed the setting on that so that it displays the notification for a week instead of for a day, so you might be seeing the same notification over and over. (Seriously, though, I don't care when some random relative's birthday is on that day, and I especially don't care a week before that day.)

Oh, I know, but it's still surprising that there ate 10 people I know with birthdays between June 28th and July 4th. I can usually joke that I barely know 10 people without it seeming like hyperbole

I decided to read the recent obituaries in my town's local paper, and instantly regretted it. There's a guy from here that a lot of my friends knew who went to a rehab center in Florida trying to get clean, and I guess he relapsed, ODed and died. I met him a few times, nice enough seeming fellow.

Heavy shit, man.

No, I'm saying look at your avatar (though I guess you already knew that).
Thinking of this, here's the original image so you can decide for yourself if he looks like Gordon:

I have waaayyy too much time at hand. Also my Gimp skills are getting better.

I spent far more time for this than I expected. Frickin JPEG artifacts. Also a mistake in my workflow lead to me spending most of the time working on the selection for the layer masks with a greyscale image. Colors are easier to distinguish than different shades of grey. About three hours of work. Feel free to replace your Avatar with the Gordonised version if you want to.

Edit: Damn, uploaded the wrong version at first. Fixed it now.

I want a bouncy house that looks like that spider.  I want to take it to a kids party for them to play in.

Nice! It definitely stands out more from the background with those colors.

The museum installed the spider back in February, but it took me until recently to remember to bring my camera to take a picture of it. What would have been even better is if I had remembered my camera back when they first installed it. We had a couple strong windstorms in February and they hadn't weighed down his legs with sandbags like they are in the picture. So he ended up dancing in the wind. I kinda regret not remembering to bring my camera for that.

Why are spoons called spoons?
Because when you put one on top of another, they spoon.

They're called "spoons" because it would cause too much confusion to call them "waffles".
