This made me think of a one foot put gif I saw not too long ago but it involved a lady's ass and this is a family friendly environment. Sort of.

Cats open their mouths and pant when they smell certain things, in order to "taste" them better.  I've seen this type cat before (though I don't recall the breed name), and it normally looks a little like a caricature of a cat, but with the open mouth...

I was actually ultra blonde when I was a young lad, my hair was almost white! I'm happy that it darkened to a dirty blond over time. Looks much more suave and all.  :-D

My ex's blonde hair is so pale that he can't get it cut too short or he will look like he's bald. He also has a little silver streak behind his right ear.

The current boyfriend has luxurious auburn hair, with hints of red, gold, and black in his beard.

I like hair.

I love my hair, not gonna lie. I had dirty blonde hair when I was little, but it darkened as I got older, and now it's a nice shiny dark brown with gold and copper highlights. I don't miss having blonde hair at all. Brunette is Better. (Though sometimes I do miss my red-from-a-bottle hair because red hair against white sheets looks like spilt wine and I think it's lovely.)

I want to have biro blue hair but I'm too scared to bleach it. Right now I'm growing out the navy blue which has gone black so my blonde bits look really blonde by comparison. Naturally had reddy/browny/blondey auburn hair but I'd like it to be just one or two shades lighter.

Incidentally, random thought about my hair: I haven't conditioned it the last couple washes because I've only had time for IN quick shampoo, certain bits cleaned OUT showers. It seems to be way softer and healthier looking though. I've got a couple bad knots in it after sleeping but as long as I'm patient, I can brush/untangle them out without ripping out chunks of hair.

I had super bright blue hair for a couple years. I miss it, but I do not miss the work involved. My natural hair color is boring mousey brown and I don't like it at all. I used to dye it super dark blue-black, but have since decided that I don't want to look quite that gothy anymore. So I've dyed it chocolate brown a couple times since then, and I love it, but I have no one to dye my hair now. I might visit the local beauty school soon and see how well they do.

It's actually really easy to dye your own hair. If you want to try it yourself, I always liked Garnier's hair dye. It doesn't dry out your hair like others do and the color lasts for quite a while.

I just know I will make a huge mess. I'm clumsy and have serious issues doing things in a mirror. Like it's far more difficult than it should be for me to use a mirror.

Oh and Welu: your hair might be looking better because the conditioner had too much junk in it... synthetic stuff that just isn't needed to keep your hair soft. Conditioner can also leave stuff in your hair that your shampoo can't always get out.

I use Lush shampoo and conditioner usually, but lately I feel like my hair has been falling out a lot so I use Fructis Fall Fight conditioner. But I like the Lush stuff because it's simple and natural.

My natural hair color is a mousey brown too. I'm not ashamed to say it- I'm addicted to the bottle. My hair has been every shade of red, orange, purple and pink on the planet. Plus, it's just fun for me to dye hair. I've done my own a hundred times, plus a few of my friends' and my mom's.  :-P

Now I tend to gravitate towards a fire engine red or deep cherry but I miss my orange hair terribly.....

I haven't used conditioner more than once in a blue moon in years. There's really no point to it, especially when you're not using harsh shampoos (which you shouldn't be).

Having sent the dog to a farm so that it can run free is the cliche way of avoiding telling children the dog died.

Ah.  But one part of having pets (of any kind) is the opportunity to teach the children about death, so that rather misses the point, I feel.

It would depend on the age of the child and if the parent personally thinks they're ready to deal with mortality. Just because it's an animal, it doesn't mean it won't hit hard. They'll still have to learn to deal with something being permanently gone even with the farm story.

Also considering the dog-going-to-the-farm cliché, it seems odd I got my first dog because my grandparents died, so she moved from the big farm with room to run free to our suburban bungalow. Also relevant amusing except from Red Dwarf:
Quote
I remember when my dad died you know. I was only six. I got loads of presents off everyone like it was Christmas. I remember wishing a couple more people would die so I could complete my Lego set. My grandma tried to explain you know. She said he'd gone away and he wasn't coming back.
So I wanted to know where like, you know. She said he was very happy and he'd gone to the same place as my goldfish. So I thought they'd flushed him down the bog. I thought he was just round the U bend you know.
I used to stuff food down, you know, and magazines and that for him to read. They took me to a child psychologist in the end because they found me with my head down the bowl reading him the football results.

Is it cold in here?

I condition my hair sometimes because it makes it smell nice and it stops it being quite so frizzy (probably by weighting it down with gunk, to be honest).

If it's a higher quality conditioner it is, hopefully, helping to keep the hair smooth without weighing it down. This is what I use and it's awesome, though probably not enough for people with dry hair.

Random thought: it really bugs me how the definition of the word "evangelical" has been narrowed and narrowed until it now only applies to a specific subset of conservative Christians. The OED gives three meanings:
Of or according to the teaching of the gospel or the Christian religion
Of or denoting a tradition within Protestant Christianity emphasizing the authority of the Bible, personal conversion, and the doctrine of salvation by faith in the Atonement
Zealous in advocating something

The third one is what I'd consider to be its true meaning. The first is probably its most common in the UK and US, at any rate. How is it that the second has become so predominant? I'd like to say that I'm evangelical about a lot of things - I spent the last month extolling the merits of informed voting, for instance. It had nothing to do with Biblical prohibitions on homosexuality.

I recently started using a Head and Shoulders all in one shampoo/conditioner, I used to not condition at all and I think my hair is feeling more luscious but I really have no idea...  Does anyone who knows something about hair care have an opinion on the effectiveness of a two in one shampoo/conditioner vs shampooing and conditioning separately?

I find my hair gets really tangled if I don't use conditioner... I keep looking at no'poo blogs but I just don't think I could hack it. My hair gets too oily to deal with after three days so a week or more is really not gonna happen.

The oiliness is your scalp reacting to having all its oils stripped by shampoo. So you can do it but you'd definitely have to deal with that in-between super gross and oily period. I like my shampoo too much to give it up and I don't know that I could deal with having nasty oily hair for that long.

Also I don't see any problem with the all-in-one shampoo/conditioner if it works for you.

Barmymoo, I truly didn't know that evangelical could refer to anything non-religious.

Certainly it can; and I use it that way at least as often as with the religious link. I would normally say "evangelical Christians" rather than just "evangelicals" for just that reason.

Baking Soda, honey and water for shampoo. 1/3 Apple Cider Vinegar to 2/3 water mix for a hair rinse after I've rinsed the baking soda is out. Ends up cleaning my hair and the Vinegar wash does most of what the conditioner did, including making it easier to brush and adding a bit of a healthy sheen to it.

I use whatever shampoo's handy - what's left of my hair is thin, and it (and my skin) is oily.

When I was spending every other night at the hospital, I'd wash my face in the bathroom the next morning before driving back and teaching.  And I'd just take it up over the head.  The soap was that self-foaming stuff.  Smelled like grapefruit.

There's a real advantage to having a hairstyle you can comb with a paper towel...
