whoa, whoa, whoa, stop that. a series of puns tends to spark a landslide of them around here, and I'd rather keep this place nice and grounded.

I think the proper terminology would be "cascade" or "avalanche".

Isn't 1 Ampere enough to kill a person?

40mA is the figure I usually quote (obviously it varies a bit, and depends on the path the current takes through the body); that's by no means always fatal, but about double usually is - have a list of figures.  There's a reason that 30mA is the common sensitivity of earth-leakage breakers.  The voltage is irrelevant, except as providing the motive force for the current, but it should be noted that there is a time element as well.

Indeed, voltage's motive force is quite relevant. It needs to be high enough to carry the current through a human body, and across the cardiac muscles, to a ground. Compare it to a spider...it might have lethal venom, but if its pinchers are too weak to break the skin, you're ok. Unless you eat it. Don't eat electricity, folks. Or spiders.

Indeed, voltage's motive force is quite relevant.

But not the voltage in itself without other things being right - as you must know well, an HT shock from a high-impedence source is annoying rather than deadly.

Momo's resume listed her built-in taser as having a capacity of 250 mA.

This bothered me at the time.

She is carrying a concealed deadly weapon. There are laws about that in most places. She might qualify for a permit on the grounds of need: she's a target for perverts who take their Japanese porn too seriously.

Also true. I've gotten enough shocks from 450V capacitors lying in wait (damn sleeper cell components, they are) but I'm still here. Conversely, the 22,000V shock to my voltmeter, carrying 40 Amps, was enough to make my hair stand on end without being part of the circuit. Also my voltmeter caught on fire from the inside.  :'(

How does the expression 'those that can do, those that can't teach' work if you're discussing teaching people how to teach?

Ugh, ugly typo.

I'd say probably not. How many other dictators in history get the kind of treatment Hitler does? I'm gonna go ahead and say none. Not even the other genocidal ones. What's the general opinion on dictators? "Somebody should get rid of that guy!" But the opinion on actually trying to get rid of a specific dictator? "Well at least things are stable for now and I mean we're not even done with that other war yet so maybe we'll just leave that one to the citizens to sort out in their own time." A few years ago a former online friend linked me to a photo of a girl giving a blowjob and asked if it was me. My response was, "No, my eyes aren't green." opposed to, "No, I have never been photographed giving a blowjob, nor given a blowjob at all as of yet."

I have the weirdest face fur.  Its blonde, white, red, and black.  Its starting to really grow out too, I used to not be able to really grow a 'stache but now the hair is starting to go over my lip.  I guess the old wives tale of shaving makes it grow back fuller is some what true.  I am 27 and only now can grow a full mustache.  Too bad its a strange mix of wacky (yet natural) colors else it would look pretty nice.

Until I was about thirteen, possibly older because I started dying my hair then, it grew with loadsa different colours. It was mostly mousy brown and reddish brown but had wee streaks of white-blond on the sides and the underside was a mix of dark brown and black. Kinda miss it.
