Instead of typing "Herman's Hermits" into the Grooveshark search bar, I typed "Heman's Hermits".

Made me lol.  :-P

Before I leave work in the evenings, I fill a plastic water bottle half way with water, and lay it at an angle, so when I put more water in it, it will stay cold longer. I'm super amused by the noises it makes when it's out of the freezer, when it starts warming up.

I could never understand why people drink ice water. That shit is painful. I like my water lukewarm to hot.

It is a little rough on my teeth these days, but not too bad. I hate warm water, it's super gross.

I love ice water, but I usually curl my lips inward as to protect my teeth. I get more refreshment from the temperature than the hydration.

I like my alcoholic drinks room temperature, from girly drinks to liquor to beer.

That's just....yeah.

I'll take red wine at room temperature, because it has to aerate, so they say. The rest of it, nuh-uh. Washington Apple with a splash of Jager, on the rocks please.

I like water cold, but I don't like ice in my drinks. The temperature it comes out of the tap during winter is perfect.

Temperature is entirely dependent on beverage.

I like water cold from the fridge. I like Coke as cold as it can get without freezing and losing its fizz. I like whisky at room temperature, no ice.

The professor of my undergraduate Communications 101 class at UWW would always start his lectures with a quiet "well, I guess since everyone is here, we should begin." I was always tempted to interrupt when he said that and ask, "If we all decided not to show up one day, would that mean class is canceled?"

Never did, though.

Complaining within your medium has plenty of august precedent - the example that springs to the top of my head is Haydn's "Farewell" Symphony:
Quote from: Wikipedia
It was written for Haydn's patron, Prince Nikolaus Esterházy, while he, Haydn and the court orchestra were at the Prince's summer palace in Eszterháza. The stay there had been longer than expected, and most of the musicians had been forced to leave their wives back at home in Eisenstadt, so in the last movement of the symphony, Haydn subtly hinted to his patron that perhaps he might like to allow the musicians to return home: during the final adagio each musician stops playing, snuffs out the candle on his music stand, and leaves in turn, so that at the end, there are just two muted violins left (played by Haydn himself and the concertmaster, Alois Luigi Tomasini). Esterházy seems to have understood the message: the court returned to Eisenstadt the day following the performance.

I had an English teacher who got us to read for quarter of an hour at the start of each lesson - whether that was because he was trying to instill a love of good literature in us or it it was because he wanted to do less teaching, I'm not sure. Anyway, this teacher would periodically get so engrossed in his book that he'd not teach us or forget to show up for lessons entirely.

I enjoyed it, personally. But then I also started reading whenever I finished work early.

I also found out that finishing work early and then listening to music and reading and tuning out of the noise of other people not getting on with whatever they are supposed to be doing is a really good way of getting hauled up, because I wouldn't realise that we'd moved on.

So I kinda wanted to make a separate topic for this, but I am a bit hesitant about making topics, so I'll just post it here, you all can decide if you want it in another thread.

So one of my friends messaged me a week or so ago about these
http://micronations.webs.com/#beginning

It's somewhat roleplaying, but with some touch of reality. Basically, a group of people declare some abstract territory as their nation. They then write a declaration of independence/constitution/ whatever. It seems interesting at the very least and you guys are an interesting set of individuals, so I thought I'd show it to you and see what you thought about it. I'm still deciding what I think about it. All I can think is "Wow this internet thing is weirdly interesting sometimes."

I am beginning to find the attempts to be edgy by using words in a jokey context that can otherwise be offensive a bit wearing; can we lay off it, please?  It's reminding me of past times on the forum.

I'd be happy with intermittent...  made it to 63F yesterday, rainy, all the snow was gone... the snow's been slow but nonstop all day.  High of 24F.

They're blaming all the warming/cooling for the massive number of water main breaks in town.  24 breaks in the last 18 days... the city's having trouble keeping up!

I straighten my fringe because one side ends up really curly and the other side kinda wavy the middle is straight. It has grown out enough that it just pokes into my eyes or covers my glasses and it irritates like hell but I'm waiting for it to be long enough to get cut properly.

I've got a few pictures of May with different smiles. I think one of them is kind of a sly little smile. Pictures in the restaurant with Eed are neat.
Clara hated to pose for pictures where she was expected to smile. She couldn't do it. But if instead she was engaged in conversation, or with a prop, she glowed.
