Yes, I meant also to remark that you can change the viewed size on screen without changing the formatting.

I'm recovering from an eye surgery, the magnify function saved me after I got through the first couple days which were spent with Zero Punctuation on youtube on autoplay or my stand up comedy play list running as I slipped in and out of consciousness in a haze of opiate painkillers and searing pain on my eye.

Interestingly, the thing that told me the painkillers given to me were/are serious as hell is that my legs stopped hurting.

At least you have good choice in ZP, Nothing like a hangover morning listening to Yahtzee's soothing dulcet tones ripping apart loads of games.

My first thought of today was "Oh wow i drank a lot last night" The second was "Oh cool i got a cowboy hat"

Seems like a successful night.

I don't need it to be zoomed in, I have pretty great eyesight. Though I do get eye fatigue from sitting in front of a computer all day every day.

12point is good for reading quickly. I take notes at 9 with the view at full page though because I am paranoid about people reading my notes.

Word's default here has been 11 pt. Calibri for a few years, now.  I always use 12 pt. Times New Roman.  Classier looking, and easier to read, I think.

When I'm dealing with data, it's Tahoma at 8 point.

When I'm trying to read something that I might want to print out, it's Times New Roman, probably 12 point.

When I'm going monospaced, it's Courier New at 10.

Comic Saaaaaaaaans!

But no, I kid, I kid. I do love Verdana, nice wide font, easy to read on screen.

For printed works, I prefer something simple and without serifs, like Arial.

Times Roman was everywhere when I was learning to read and to this day anything in that face goes straight into my brain effortlessly without my necessarily even knowing I was reading it.

I concur, my mother hates redheads (or "colleens" as they're called) but that's because being a brunette in an Irish community gives you the odd foot out I suppose.

On that note. I used to post on the Butthole Surfers forum. there was a guy there who must have been pretty hard up for cash as he said he would fight a goose and post the video if people donated enough money, something like $200 or so.

After a while he did post a video and geese are mean, that bird had him running away crying.

So if ducks are anything like geese I will try to tread lightly and bring my tomahawk.

Well last night I came up with and ditched an idea for a device that could provide electricity for something like power armor. Mostly because running the numbers revealed it would be dangerously radioactive. If anyone compares it to an arc reactor they will receive a nasty a glare. FYI it generates electricity via thermo-voltaic (Seebeck effect) ceramics and beta decay.

Is the reason for using beta decay that it produces more heat than helium nuclei?

By the way, when I was biking out in the snow one night I came up with an idea to preserve the heat that you lose from breathing. My scarf was wrapped around my head in such a way that exhaling would bring warm air to my ears, and I thought, I want that for my whole body! To do that, you'd simply need a sort of tracksuit with a branching series of plastic tubes, perforated with small holes all over, sewn in it. The largest tube would be about the thickness of your windpipe and branches into ever smaller tubes that spread across your chest, back, arms and legs. It functions as a reverse scuba, in that you inhale fresh air and exhale into the tubes. In this way, the heat that would be lost to the air normally, is used to warm up your skin so you don't get cold.

I imagine it wouldn't find much use as a consumer product but it could be very useful for arctic explorers and the like.

Heat delivery depends on how fast the material is decaying. You can get just the same amount of power from different decay modes. NASA seems happy with 238Pu thermoelectric sources.

<murderous glare>

The thing about using alpha decay is that to generate enough juice would result in a very short lived power source. Now my idea could work if it was say the size of a large backpack but I've been wanting to create something the size of  your average rifle magazine.  A long lived power source that weighs only a few pounds and can be swapped out quickly is what I'm aiming for. Strontium isotopes seem the best bet for it. But I'm working off pure math right now, an amateur hobbyist can't exactly order large amounts of radioactive material. I'm well aware of NASA's stuff but it's all too bulky and notice they only put it on robots. I do know that if it ever works the first thing I'm doing with it is building my own power armor. :P
