I'm finding it a little difficult to like red-haired intern at the moment, just something about her attitude really puts me off. That said, tall intern and notebook intern seem like fun (that might be more from the old adage "Better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt").

But hey, its still early days and we shall see what happens. And somehow I can't see Marten showing up at work, show three interns around for presumably several minutes and then head out for coffee, so I'd say they'd go to breakroom.

I kind of get where she's coming from. She seems like this is part of her long-term career path, and so it's kind of understandable how she'd be a little pissed off if they're not taking it seriously.

Somebody not taking interns seriously? Perish the thought! What was she expecting?

There's a suspicious appliance behind him that we only catch a glimpse of, that could very well be a coffee maker.

Is a "suspicious appliance" an appliance that acts in a way that arouses suspicion, or is it one who regards the rest of the world suspiciously?

The object directly behind Marten was too large to be a toaster, though. It's taller than the microwave.

So grumpy girl is a Claire.  I have a niece and a granddaughter called that, and four more in my office - I guess it's a popular name!

Must be the name. QCClaire looks just about exactly like a Claire I know IRL. "My" Claire is wound way less tight, though. Also, she usually addresses me as "Camel Face." I'm pretty sure it's a term of endearment.

Just catching up today. What I really like is that Marten was confronted, and dude didn't go spineless. He just confidently stated the truth of the situation and took charge.

Kind of nice to see him be assertive, even if its assertively admitting he has no idea what he's doing.

Also, while Marten has his negative qualities. I think Claire could honestly learn some "go with the flow" from him. She seems to be the type who is very uptight and expects things to be certain ways and stresses when they aren't. That is really a stressful kind of life to live.

I have a bit of a book fetish myself. It's dangerous for me to go near second-hand book shops; I always come out with a stack of beautiful, aromatic, old books. My interest is partly visual, partly literary, partly olfactory.

My mind is slightly boggled that Emily (and presumably Claire and Gabby too) had to "beat out dozens of other applicants" for a library internship. Dozens? I had no idea such positions were so highly sought after.

More interesting viewpoints, especially the third panel.

This is the second Claire, after Dora's consultant.

I wonder how people from a competitive process will react to Marten's Type B personality. Interesting that Emily is the one with East Asian facial features but it's Claire who has the Taipei personality.

I think we've figured out how the library works. Tai picks excellent go-getter interns to do the actual library science, freeing her and Marten to do tasks that don't require huge amount of effort.

I might be selling Tai short, she has shown a certain amount of "savvy" in dealing with the administration.

Why? Because you like old books? I don't see how anyone could be considered weird for liking old books. I love them. Every week I go to this old bookstore and buy a book, chances are I won't get around to read it, but you know what? I don't care, I love books. The scent, the crinkle of the pages, what's not to love?

That said, I'm somewhat loathe to bring a book with me when I'm travelling, mainly because I always seem to end up destroying them in my backpack, so I bring a kindle with me now.

Claire. Homegirl. It is good that you have a professional attitude and all, but calm the fuck down. You are like the zenith of 'taking things too seriously', from what little we've seen of you, I mean god damn.

Emily has my vote for Best Intern because she knows what's up. She likes old book smell and she likes Adventure Time while partaking of the cannabis-leaf. Good on you, Emily.

Weird that people lust after any comic character, really, but why assume it's because she's Asian?  Maybe it's because she's laid back, enjoys the tomfooleries of Jake and Finn and joined a competitive library internship for the smell.
