Why indeed? There is a famous Chán saying:《一日不做一日不食》usually translated as "A day without work is a day without eating". Like many Chán ideas, this has multiple meanings. One is the obviously mundane one; that Baizhang Huahai and his fellow monks grew their own food, so if they didn't work the land they would go hungry. And then cut to Clinton, at the Horrible Revelation, discussing his conflict with her sister with a random customer who turns out to be Sven.
