Now that you mention it, yeah, I guess it might be a bit blurry.

I've been too distracted by the thin white line down the left side where Jeph missed pasting the comic in to fixate on the blur though.

It looks like it's no-specials-day in-universe as well, the last few CoD strips have been without specials. I wonder if that's deliberate (can't think of any, plot point [although I'm not sure what it would be], couldn't be botherd), or if Jeph just forgot to put them in the first strip and has left them out for continuity's sake.

Nah... d-255 is FF. d-256 is 100. It's far more culturally appropos to ask somebody to pick a number between 1 and 100! I mean cheese. Just because you're operating in a sensible base doesn't mean you're constrained by the registers in an NES.

Arrays aside, it's often easier even in more advanced computer science to count from one. Besides, pretty much everyone knows nowadays that something is up with the number 256.

Also, we should keep in mind that they aren't even necessarily siblings. When Clinton was asked earlier about having a sister, he just said "why do you ask", and "you've met Claire?"

Beside the possibility that two identical characters with alliterative names might actually have no relation whatsoever (which would be kind of cool), it's entirely possible they're clones (If we posit the possibility of opposite-sex clones in a post-Singularity universe, which isn't a big stretch). So that's what I'm guessing.

Actually, there's a guy who's my .. fourth cousin? Our great-grandfathers were brothers.

We discovered each other as teens, and looked almost exactly the same. We reconnected in college (his Ph.D. is in computer science...), and were both balding, bearded and thick glasses. Beneath all that, we still had the same facial and body structure, though he's taller.

And now, we still look a lot alike, though he's gone with contacts and is a little balder and grayer than I am. He also has a few years on me, so I guess I'm lookin' at the near future...

Point is, genetics can play funny tricks in a family, even from a distance!

Me neither. I loved the part that looked like a Lemmings level. But when I followed one of the wells a bit down, I encountered a few people, whose comment seemed to imply that several SuperMarios have fallen down there. I felt cheated and gave up

I considered it to be the end when I went for about ten drags without seeing anything (which means I may not have actually hit the bottom or top...)

Also, if Randall doesn't post a copy of the whole thing, probably someone else will stitch it together (haven't read the xkcd forums today, maybe someone already has). It looks like all the images are of the naming scheme "imgs.xkcd.com/clickdrag/4n24e.png", so it would be easy to write a script that would download them all. I'm not going to, as I've already spent too much time on this...

The most intruiging part is, ALL OF THAT would only be a miniscule representation of our world...

Edit: To create all of that in GIMP takes memory space of 124.8GB. Anyone got a spare datacentre?
