That was quick.

Not really, I just happened to be looking at that thread right after you posted. I'd have said it was that this morning if that was when I'd looked. Not sure who the devil is meant to be, I've never actually watched it.

It's pretty much any fairy tale ever that involves a not perfect relationship with a girl and her step mother.

AFAIR Cinderella is mostly rebelling against her stepsisters and Snow White isn't rebelling but merely trying not to get killed.
I think it's a story where the stepmother is actually nice but her stepdaughter still rebels against her.

Well, it *was* Coraline I was thinking of. Technically speaking, the other mother was very nice...

The opening post makes no stipulation about the subject of the accurate-but-misleading description thing, so I suppose anything goes. Does it really matter what it started as though?

The Thing?

Got it!
Coincidentally I just watched that movie yesterday with the boys and I wouldn't have guessed that. Care to explain why you chose that description (and why you said those others don't fit)?

Anyway...

Nope, also nope. It's a book that at least some people on here should have read. There's also a film, but it doesn't really fit that description.

Gilligan is the devil. For anyone who escaped seeing the show, every attempt to escape from the island is thwarted by Gilligan "accidentally" doing something "stupid".

If that 80 Days was a guess at mine, nope.

I thought it was probably Gilligan though again I'm not sure why. Probably brain-static from trying to get two assignments done in as many days.

Indeed. I'm not a huge fan of the film. I mean, I know it's *based on* the book, but there's just a few things that don't match up enough to make it grate a little for me.

You know, for some reason I automatically think "terminator" when I see this. Though that kinda leaves "experts" up to interpretation

I'm a little sad that no one guessed Paprika for mine. Or should I be happy? It was a point brought up in a conversation with a friend after all.

It was the "chasing the dragon" phrase. I think that was the first time I'd heard someone refer to smoking opium in that way. (Even though I don't do drugs, I find the history of opiates really interesting. Dunno why!)
