Hi!
« on: 30 Oct 2012, 04:08 »

Long time reader, well, it seems like a long time at least, who has finally decided to register. I found QC last year (around #2020 I think - field trip with Marten, Padma, Sam, Elliot & Momo) when it appeared in my recommended reading feed in the Google Reader. Went back a little in the archives, realised I didn't quite get all the interaction between the characters, and started from #1 and read the whole story in 3 days. Loved it. You can really see how the strip has evolved over the years, but in my opinion it really took off sometime around #550-600.

Anyway, I'm a 40-year old comic lover, who mostly rely on Google Reader & Darkgate to feed me my daily dose of new comic strips. I also read at least a book or three every month. Terry Pratchett, Robert Rankin, Douglas Adams & P.G.Wodehouse are authors I can't get enough from. Right now I'm trying to make my way through  A Song of Ice and Fire, but I have barely started on A Clash of Kings so that may take some time. I'm also a boardgamer, with a collection of 250+ games. And if I have some time left, I love music, mostly Classic Rock/Hard Rock/Metal stuff.

Pity they're dead.  Hard to get more from them now...

Thank you,

and yes, Douglas passed away way too soon for my taste. Wodehouse though was so productive that there is still a lot of him left for me to discover. And who knows how long PTerry can continue to write.

Well just keep in mind that once you turn 42 in a couple years, the answers to all of life's mysteries will open up for you. Or so they say.

I, for one, can attest that that does NOT happen.

Sadly, we found the answer to that last question today, when Sir Terry passed away.
