There is a link, but it's only on questionablecontent.net or questionablecontent.net/index. For some reason, the link isn't on questionablecontent.net/view. Add to that the link being below the fold and you have a recipe for not seeing the link at all. It took me at least one archive binge to see it, possibly two.

It happens.  To avoid the really annoying things, please read the sticky threads near the beginning of the "comic" forum, especially "Conduct in this forum", "Welcome to the QC forum! PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE NEW", and "For new people: what's a "WCDT"? Why is it important?

I am no stranger to forums and did not wish to break rules and be obnoxious

We don't have a policy against this; but there was a large population change in the forums about eighteen months ago, so the original contributors to older threads are likely not to be here any more.  As always, a bit of lurking and reading around to see what people are currently interested in would be a good start.

I'm generally quite the lurker. It depends on the forum though; I have been more active in some places than others.

Free advertising and the construction of an open bar in the neighboring website. But more seriously, more people probably realized that there is a forum or started to read the comic and wanted to see if there was a forum.

There was a very active group of people who were only marginally interested in the comic (if at all), and who used this forum as their place to meet.  They had been on another forum before, and have now moved on to a forum of their own set up eighteen months ago by a couple of them.  I am an admin here largely because the previous active admin was one of those guys and passed me the baton. 

There was also friction between this group and those who did come here for the comic, which led to an unhappy atmosphere (and which is why Jeph now has such an inconspicuous link to this place); those days have passed, but I don't know if Jeph will ever really regain his confidence in this place - this weekend's comic might help a lot, though.
