Double punishment? What, we'll kill him twice?  :psyduck:

I'm sure we have a necromancer around here somewhere.

Somebody called for a necromancer?  I've played enough of them to possibly be of assistance.

i'd like to point out that having a no-lynch-day is basically the same as giving the mob a no-risk-day. they're still free to whack any of us they want with impunity.

But without anything to go on, we're a lot more likely to hit a villager than a gangster.

That's the point of the game, isn't it? - to analyse each other's suggestions and the possible motivations for them, in order to try to distinguish the people who are attempting to deflect the truth about themselves?

After a day of confusion and suspicion, a Bear suddenly wandered into the midst of the villagers. Unsure of what to do, the villagers stare. The Bear stares back. Some wise-aleck suggests that given the lack of suspects, they lynch the Bear. After due thought, the villagers shrug. Why not?

After a process that involves song and dance, picnic baskets, honey, and antics worthy of a Warner Brothers animation, the Bear is hung. Unsure of what possessed them to do it, the villagers stare in silence at the surrealistic sight before someone finally suggests Bear steak. Once again, the villagers shrug. This will surely be the last time someone in their midst joins them, so they may as well eat!

After delicious Bear steaks are had by all, the villagers retreat to their homes and bar their doors. It's likely some of them won't wake up in the morning.

Night 1 begins

You now have 24 hours to send in your action PMs. Hurry up, folks! The sooner we get to the next day, the sooner the... fun begins.

@pwhodges - that's half the point. the other half is to convince people to follow the path you want them to follow for their good... or yours.

The sounds of gunshots interrupted everyone's sleep. There was no rest that night as the villagers wondered who would be able to greet the dawn. Once the sun finally creeps up the horizon, they all confer in the village square. Two of their number are missing. Resigned, the search is on.

Gareth is quickly found outside of his home. There are multiple bullet wounds in his body. The expression on his face is surprise; it's clear that the hit was conducted at high speed, before he even knew what had happened. The sheer number of bullets emptied into his body make it clear who could have carried out the hit on this unlucky, ordinary villager.

A shout is heard - the villagers race to the sound. They stare, horrified, at the body of cesium 133, hanging from a tree, his face contorted into a rictus of terror and confusion. They cut him down and discover a single bullet hole in the back of his head. It seems there is another killer, one indifferent to the innocence of a fellow villager.

Confused and worried, the villagers gather to try to decide what to do.

Day 2

Two people? D:

Mafia, and there's a vigilante - I'm thinking gareth by mafia (multiple bullet holes) and cesium by vigilante (one bullet hole, then strung up)?

...and here I was thinking gareth was the vigilante.

wait, maybe he was?  killed before he was hit?  could we be that lucky?

Probably not.

As you've died Gareth, you can't post in this thread. However, you can post in the sign up thread and comment on the game, the players, and how long before people begin to make offerings to the GM to save their lives... or in the Mafia's case, to end lives.

Hmm. People who haven't spoken. Could be suspicious. Also the attacks seem a little random, so maybe it's someone who isn't very familiar with the rest of us. Maybe it's a newcomer. New people are usually suspicious. Or it could be a vocal person who is very adept at covering their tracks, making themselves appear friendly. Hmm. So many things to consider...

I don't even know man...

What I do know is that this Patrick kid is starting to creep me the fuck out. He hasn't commented once, he just sits in his house all day. Watching. Gazing. Piercing the depths of your soul to find the blackness you've hidden deep within, aloofly judging you with the silence of the grave. Knowing your darkest sins and knowing that it is only the tip of your iceberg before he smiles and nods in amusement. That smile that tells you that he knows, oh he knows, about the pile of dead babies in your garage and about that hooker on 150th street that just wouldn't go quietly...

...

I say we hang him for reasons that don't even make sense. Anyone else?

I usually think Gnomes is on something (have you seen him in the welcome thread?).  However, his general randomness is probably as good as anything else right now - unless we hear from an officer of the law about something he or she has found.
