I was first introduced to QC when the controversial "Trans" strip was first released (A little more than a week ago?) and decided I wanted to find out the backstory leading up to the strip (huge mistake), so here I am.

I'm Eugene, age 20, currently going to college, I have finals next week and instead all I can do is think about QC and wonder why my life isn't as easygoing as waking up, going to work, and drinking coffee with my friends at the local coffee shop.

Pleased to meet you.

Welcome to the club. Drop your GPA at the door and dive right in! (In all seriousness though, I hope you don't actually drop your GPA)
... This coming from the guy blatantly ignoring his physics prof and typin on his IPad in class. It's a rather large class though.

Indeed. Still, if you find yourself with an empty void in your life because you read up to current, do what we do: read it again. XD

I think the actual term is "unemployed", not "retired".   :psyduck:

Hey Randy, I have something I want to test. You see that field blocked by a high-voltage electric gate with the sign, "No entry, mine field?" I want you to walk through that and report back to me, ok buddy?

It'd make a decent system for minesweeping though. You'd get more uses out of Randy than your average sousaphone player.

Just remember to have them put the sousaphone down before going out into the field.

Those things are expensive!

Sousaphone player in high school used to take his mouthpiece and ding the bell of the instrument next to him. Amazingly soft metal; the mouthpiece left a visible dent every time. He was the school superintendent's son. That might have made a difference.

I played sousaphone in high school...we did a thing called a "tuba twirl" where you take off the sousaphone while standing, hurl it behind your back, grab it with your other hand, throw it up in the air and put it back on. During a halftime formation, you'd have to march in-step and be going in the correct direction, or people get hurt. It helps to duct-tape it together before hand, so things don't fly apart.

I also did it for my college football halftime show, the short few weeks I was in UConn's marching band. Fun times.

I played trombone, marching in the front row and fantasizing about goosing the drum majorette, Patty Black, with the slide.

You too?  My trombone's still in the attic... and my weakness wasn't a majorette, but rather one of the french horn players...

I had a thing for a flutist...

And how exactly does a trombone player march in the front? What kind of bizarro-world parade is this?

Close formation, I'd guess - don't want the slide hitting anyone...

Many years back I got fairly proficient at the Bugle.  No keys either, just straight lip.

Doubt I could do it now though.

Considering the attention we payed to the rear ends in front of us instead of our music... yes.

If the appellation fits, wear it!

I have to admit my slide never made contact with Patty's bottom, or even the hem of her short skirt. What about the french horn and clarinet players?
It's possible, now that I think of it, that the slide made contact with some more adult female at a New Years Eve party when I was 13 or so, but that was a very strange year for me.
Also, now that I think of it, I admitted the fantasy to Patty at a reunion in the last 10-20 years. She may have been flattered that I noticed.

Considering the french horn player's brother was a (large) drummer, no contact with any body part was ever made.  Had to be happy worshiping from afar...
