Well I finally went and did it, I've been reading qc since strip 10 and I almost made it to
10 years without joining the forum. Alas being shuffled off to midnight shifts has filled me
with boundless boredom, and I need somethimg to do with myself late at night.
Anyway a little about me, I'm a soon to be unemployed factory worker ( <== probably.) I'm 31,
I didn't go to college but I am a genius (seriously not bragging but I'm in mensa) I have a
stepdaughter, a daughter and a son, and I'm severely ADD (but not ADHD, my attention deficit isn't hi-def)
I tend to avoid fan forums, and other fandom related things like fan fics, and shipping charts and all the
other fandom crap that makes stepdaughter go "Squeeeeee". However after lurking for a few days and seeing
that there is more here than the normal fangirl/boy fluff, I figured what the hell I'll sign up.
Initially I read qc because I could identify with Marten, being socially awkward around women, hating
my job, not knowing what I wanted from life or how to even get it. I liked Faye's sass and no nonesense
directness. If I'm being totally honest though, it was Pintsize that got me hooked. Seriously, who wouldn't want a perverted
robotic pal to hang out with?
As the strip has progressed I've grown to love it more and more. The head nods to some of my favorite scifi,
and music. The evolving and seemingly ever growing cast (not complaining, I really enjoy all the new charcters
like Momo's new more humanoid form and her interactions with Emily. Clinton and Claire's bitter yet caring
sibling-rivalry-fueled give and take. The recently revealed, surprinsing, hidden depth of Pintsize, and his accepted
place in the world.) Tackling issues most slice of life comedy strips avoid like the plague (socially crippling emotional
traumas, suicide, alcoholism, ocd, sexual orientation, being transgender, and fictional issues like human/ai societal
interactions) while still being funny and entertaining.
Damn that was kinda long winded. To summarize though: HI!
