Why hello there

I'm Mary. I'm 21 and live in Scotland (though I'm actually American) and I'm doing a PhD in maths. I have a cat named Polaris, a girlfriend named Hannah, and an acoustic guitar. I like penguins, running, and board games.
So, hi!

You're not alone! We actually have a couple of Ph. D.'s in math on board already (I'm one... Skewbrow is the other, but there may be more
hiding
lurking). There's always room for more!
But you're not really 'murrican if you call it "maths"... How long have you been in the UK, if I may ask? (clearly long enough to soak up the local colloquialisms...)

It's always good to find more mathematicians.
I've been in the UK for three and a half years the now. I did my undergraduate degree here as well; I'm only one semester into my PhD at the moment. I lived with Scottish friends during my undergrad, so they hastened my descent into Scottishisms. :p
