Ugh....it's been rough here. Rain and humidity like you wouldn't believe for about a week and now that the humidity has finally broken, we've had some serious heat. Hit 100 F today, coolest we could get our apartment was 84. Not anywhere near the craziness out west but we're definitely not used to this. Was going to gym but then said ohwellfuckthat.

Last night it was so hot that I put a bowl of water with some ice cubes in it outside for the stray cat that's been wandering around. Poor little guy looked like he was melting into the sidewalk.

It's supposed to be in the upper 90s F (35-38 C) here this coming week. Typical summer weather around here. My apartment at least has a good air conditioning system, as long as my roommate doesn't turn the thermostat up.

It has dropped nearly 20 degrees in the last hour (thanks to a huge windy storm).

It was 92 when I checked before, and it is now 73.

It's currently raining and freakishly cold (for July, anyway), in the upper 50s F (~16 C).

Riding home from work today, a thunderstorm broke overhead! There was barely an interval between lightning-flash and thunder-clap. It was rather awesome. And wet, very wet.

It's supposed to be 27° C outside.

It's hotter than that in the bus I am taking. Thankfully, I have an improvised fan with me.

Last week, the Central Line on the London Underground was a balmy 34.5C.

HOTTER THAN BALI

And I've been braving that. At least I wasn't on the Circle Line (otherwise known as the Firey Circle of Hell). To my knowledge, most of the Tube trains have NO air conditioning...and we've got surface temperatures of 50C, warping the tracks in some cases!

Bloody love the sunshine though.

Only 34.5C? That's the temperature it's been getting to around here, and it's been a very mild summer.

I always found it hilarious how people continuously moan about the weather. I mean, weather catastrophes I can get, but nobody seems to be happy about their weather.

Snow? It's horrible.
Rain? It's horrible.
30°C? It's horrible.

I for one love the summer and always smile at the first snow of the year. I also enjoy walking through the snow. I don't like being sweaty, but hey, we're all human and everybody gets sweaty.

And I enjoy waking up at 7 o'clock and having the sun out.

I remember the last time I went to my old apartment, there's a 10 minute walk from the metro station to my place, and you have to walk through some greenery. As I did, it started to rain, but it was incredibly sunny outside. I hadn't seen a rainbow since I moved to Germany, and on my last day at the apartment where I lived 3 years, a beautiful rainbow appeared on top of it.

I didn't have any raincoats on or nothing, I was walking in a yellow shirt with white shorts (awesome in the rain, I know), but I had the widest grin on my face.

I'm always happy when it's winter. Snow? Woohoo! -15°C? Woohoo! Sun goes up late and goes down early? Woohoo!

I consider it annoying when it goes dark at like 23:15 and goes bright at like 03:40. Also I consider it annoying not to get much sleep any more because it's so frickin warm in my room. Even though I have two fans running and the windows open. Which leads to spiders.

I don't particularly like having my face dripping with sweat only for going 75m to the next store.

I'm not really cut out for the summer.

I was the guy who went to school wearing only a light jacket and a t-shirt when it was snowing outside. I like the cold.

Masterpiece: I love snow, except that it's cold. And I LOVE spring. I like summer if it isn't above 25° C. And I HATE gloomy rainy autumns because they make me depressed.

Basically, give me a spring breeze, a temperature not above 25 degrees, and sun outside and I will like it.
My ranking of seasons is
spring
summer
winter
everything else
potato
autumn

I will gladly take anything under 15°C.

Perfect weather: Sunny, snow on the ground, -10°C, clear air and sky.

Winter
Spring
Autumn
Summer

Winter is the best. I love the cold, I love snow, I love hoodie and coat weather. I love bundling up to walk to wherever in the winter. Or not - when I was in school I'd wear short sleeve shirts and jeans in the winter. Autumn is second best. Cold hoodie weather, rain, no need for either heat or AC. Spring is okay. It's getting too warm for hoodies and too humid. Summer fucking sucks. I like rain when it's warm, and I love the feeling of being outside on a hot day and going inside where there's AC. But heat and humidity are awful and I can't handle them.

cesium: how humid is the air where you live? I can stand dry heat, but I can't stand humid heat like we currently have here. 65% RH at 26°C.

It varies. Oklahoma is in between a desert climate to the west and a humid subtropical climate to the south/southeast. This year it's been humid, last year we were in a bad drought, so it was dry. Right now, it's 79F/26C with a dewpoint of 72F/22C (79% RH).

I looove spring and summer. I get sweaty more than a "normal" person, but I don't mind summer because everyone is sweaty! When I'm sweating my ass off in January, it makes me feel like some sort of mutant. Autumn and Winter make me depressed, so it's kinda hard to like them. I smile at the first snow...maybe the second as well. By the time the snow is all gray and dirty and gross and it's dark at 3pm....I'm a mess.

Spring is by far my favorite season (only bad thing=allergies), followed by Summer at a close second (yay swimming!), then Autumn (only saved by the fact that my birthday is during this time of year), then Winter.

We've had a rough summer.....really humid and hitting 95-100F all last week...but I'll take it! Give me my pool, A/C and a nice, cold, fruity cocktail and we're golden.  8-)

....I won't be doing any hardcore bitching for another 18 weeks or so. :-P

Around my area:

Winter: Cold, snowy. At least it's not hot.
Spring: Usually rainy, sometimes cold and snowy, sometimes hot and stormy.
Summer: Hot and stormy.
Fall: Sometimes hot and stormy, sometimes cold and snowy, occasionally cool and not stormy or rainy or anything!

Summer can fuck off. Spring and Autumn are where it's at. Gets dark at a good time, crisp, cool mornings, warm days, chilled evenings. And winter is beautiful, romantic, cold...

Okay, summer's not so bad. But it is too goddamn hot right now. I work in an office in a shirt and tie and it is pushing 30 goddamn degrees.

Hodgy man, you see that insane rain this morning? It leaked through the college's roof and killed one of our servers. I had to work in a classroom most of the day.

Yeah - it delayed my leaving for work (by bike) for 30 minutes.  The end of my road was flooded over where the drains had blocked.  A nice little drink for the garden, though.

My server room is in the basement, below the water table.  As the building is quite new, it's good and watertight, but there is a pump in a sump.  The servers  are raised on a false floor with the networking above, but as the power is below on the real floor, any water in there would still play havoc. (Lots of power - I have a half rack of equipment, a cluster with 256 cores in blades with 16GB memory per core, and 250 TB of disks, that is taking 38 Amps when working flat out.)

Yay. We had 32°C today. My room (which is right under the roof) was 36°C. Luckily it has cooled down a little now, so I only have 31°C in my room now.

It is too fucking warm.

Everybody's cheerfulness about that makes my mood even worse.

I've had occasional headaches for several (non-consecutive) days now because of the heat. Thanks to Aspirin I can at least do stuff (and thanks to the non-consecutiveness of my headaches I could at least take Aspirin).

I feel like shit and want to take hourly showers because I'm always sticking with sweat.

I want to move somewhere where the Summer is as cold as our autumn and the winter even colder. Sadly Karlsruhe (where I'll probably move to) is even warmer than my town. According to some sources it's the warmest town in Germany. Fucking yay. I think I'll need to look for an AC.

This will be our first full winter with all new windows. I'm very excited not to be stocking up on Frost King right now. We ended up leaving it up through the spring because it helped trap the stink bugs that walked through our old windows like they weren't even there.

I was walking somewhere last night and wearing my coat, a long-sleeve but thin dress and a thin cardigan, and thinking that I was too warm and realising how ridiculous that is when it's winter. I'm too hot about 80% of the year, and then for the remaining 20% I'm a block of ice. I think my hypothalmus is broken.

It is cold here. I am not okay with this. Why would any one live in the North?

I don't like the cold either, and I have been very cold at night in the desert. Give me the steaming swamps any day.

Snow. It was flying around this afternoon. It wasn't the big fluffy stuff you see in movies, of course - but it was noticeable enough that you could recognize it as snow.

Fortunately, there wasn't enough moisture in the air for it to be thicker and able to cover the ground. The ground also hasn't frozen enough that it would stick, either.

Still - SNOW.  :psyduck:

You're working indoors, aren't you?

Also, it's Delaware.  That's 90% below the mason-dixon line.

I can paint at temps down to 49F.  That the minimum suggested temp on the spray cans.
After I wash the minis, I dry & warm them in front of a small heater fan.
While they are still warm, I take them outside, spray'em, let them sit for 2-3 minutes; then return them to the drying/warming spot.  It works.
so long as your spray paint is 70-80F, and the mini's surface temp is about 70-80F; it will work.

What kills me is humidity.  :(

It's supposed to be 35C today, lots of wind. This is the third week that we've had a day like this, except now there have been awful bushfires all week and this is supposed to be fucking terrible. Public trasport is being cancelled, schools are being closed, yesterday there wasn't an evacuation notification but the firefighters were saying "Get the hell out of the area".

I hope this means that we get the bushfire season out of the way early, but I have a hunch it's just going to be a long one this year.
